Fox 8 wanted to boast that they have 5 meteorologists and are launching weekend news.
You could find that to be a bit excessive in staffing because you have smaller markets like their sister station WLOX have 3 and they do a full slate of weekend and weekday newscasts. Now Fox 8 weekdays are a little busier than WLOX since Fox 8 goes to the 10 o’clock hour now with a local newscast. For an ABC/CBS affiliate like WLOX they are just doing cut ins for the National morning newscasts.
The life of a morning meteorologist is typically 3 or 4 to after the noon newscast. The evening meteorologist rolls in about 1 or 2 and works until the end of the 10 pm news. The weekend guy pretty much lives at the station for 2 days, he is there for the morning show, afternoon shows and the late weekend news. After all these hours the weekend guy probably works 2 days a week. Now if there is “severe weather” they all are probably working.

No idea, but Zack knows his shite. Last year when *some storm, who can remember at this point* was threatening to come here, Zack said there was no way it would come our way and he was right.

If he was right, he was the best.
If he was wrong, then he sucks.

When they introduced him on Facebook, they said no one got fired.
I’m kind of bummed he got hired there. Not sure how much he’s going to do weather for the rest of the state like he has been. Probably my favorite weather follow on social media

It is worse than that not only do they copy the forecast, the stations that they work for purchase your NWS forecast from a 3rd party and the 3rd party repackages it as some magical brand for untold sums of money in the name of advertisers and ratings. Then the weather person gets to stand in front of a magical green wall that turns into a weather map on TV.
