why are ppl so quick to take this thing?

no wariness whatsoever?

you know these companies cannot be sued if there are any "complications" with their vaccines, right?

I really hope this uneducated point of view dies out, but unfortunately I think the ant-vaxxer movement on the right is here to stay. Such an interesting irony considering the existing anti-child vaxxing movement on the far left.

Trump needs to get it just so his followers will likely jump in line.

sadly you're right. Hope people would look at the facts and do research on their own before making a decision.

Meridian is the name of the company hosting the study for Moderna.

Checking it out right now. Thanks.

Well damn, pretty limited testing sites but Baton Rouge is one of them. I’m in TX though.

Are the doing it at Pennington?

That's the purpose of the trials. 94.5% effective...that's how it goes. The people that volunteered for the trials are the guinea pigs not you.

you cannot seek damages or stop the vaccine from going to others if there are any problems with it. so that's odd.

this is the fastest-to-market they've ever done, for something (the common cold) they always assumed was incurable.

in the Pfizer option, they're injecting DNA and mrna into you, to make your body produce things it wouldn't have. not a weakened/dead virus you can naturally adapt to.

oh all this with MINIMAL testing.

subject injected, did not immediately die, send out the vaccine!

and you want the first release?

Plenty of vaccines out there for this. None of which are legal and can't be used without side effects.

Right -

The tens of thousands of people getting both vaccines are the trial. Then the 10s of millions of elderly and front line workers just in the US alone are the next phase.

So by the time the people on this message board can get the vaccine, globally probably 100,000,000 people will have had the vaccine.

Guess that's not enough data points.

A bunch of redneck Jenny McCarthy's in this country.

not an anti vaxxer. not a trump supporter.

you cannot sue big pharma for vaccine damages.

they send you to a secret court and pay you TAX DOLLARS to STFU and go away.

You won’t need to because the time you’re able to get the vaccine they’ll know it’s completely safe.

This might be a really fricking stupid question but I just want to be sure and of course I’ll ask them but asking here first.

I’m going to BR the week of Thanksgiving. If I sign up, I could get he first dose then and the the second around Christmas time. Are ya’ll required to quarantine or anything around taking the doses? If I’d be staying with my elderly parents at both these times, it don’t want to take any chances.

It might not be feasible though if the 2nd dose has to be on the exact 21st day or whatever.

The Chinese flu has a survival rate of 99.5%. Why do I need a vaccine?

Because unless you’ve had it, you’re a weak link in herd immunity.

this exactly. whats the point?

they've scared people so much that any 'normal' measures aren't even considered. so they need a magic vaccine to counter the magic virus

herd immunity does not require everyone to have it.

the threshold percentage of the population required to reach it is different with every virus.

Good thing we are gonna have a lock down then.

Everyone just needs to give up their freedoms and stay home and do nothing

Moderna said Monday its vaccine remains stable at 36 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature of a standard home or medical refrigerator, for up to 30 days. It can be stored for up to six months at negative 4 degrees Fahrenheit. By comparison, Pfizer's vaccine requires a storage temperature of minus 94 degrees Fahrenheit.
This is what CNBC said. If true, this is a game changer from a logistical standpoint.

I believe second dose was within 30-40 days of the first. It is a pretty exact number.

You don’t have to quarantine or anything—it’s not contagious.
