That radar cruise control is great, not sure what you are talking about. makes it way easier to use in more situations.
I did not find that to be the case, but I've been using cruise control on the interstate with tremendous ease for 20+ years. It never was difficult at all.

Same for the cruise control - you can override the radar cruise and use the conventional cruise (like the old days) with a couple button presses.

I never use radar cruise, always in conventional cruise mode.

I have also heard and read some horror stories about the 3.0L diesel in GMC and Chevy trucks

These have been excellent motors. Some teething issues in the first year but they’ve been very good. It’s ideal if you put a lot of highway miles on your truck.

The new Tundra motors are fine too. They at least fixed the serious camshaft issues in newer production vehicles. The rest of the truck is not up to the Toyota standard though.

My Dad has a new tundra. It has the start-stop. Automatic radar speed adjustment cruise control You can’t move an inch without seatbelt without it going apeshit The rearview mirror is a screen I can’t stand it

GMC has this seatbelt feature but you can turn it off permanently in the IC.

Unfortunately you have to manually turn off the start/stop in every new truck when you start it save for some 3/4 ton models. It’s annoying.

Also to the OP: just my opinion, but I’d seriously consider the GMC with the stroker 6.6L Gas V8 or the Ford 7.3L gas V8. But I like big displacement gas motors. Both of those have some real smoke. They are not slow. Unfortunately you have to go 3/4 ton to get them.

I just bought the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 with diesel engine 2 weeks ago for 63K. Absolutely love it.

Was worried about the engine but the warranty put my mind at ease.

As stated before, 500+ miles per tank at $70 is awesome.

My car has the radar cruise control. When you turn the cruise control on, if you hold the button down for a few seconds it disables the radar feature. Check your owner's manual.

2021 was the last year model. I traded in my 2012 with 80k for a 2021 because of that. Should be the last truck I buy before death.

I'm on my second 3.0, would buy a third. First one I traded in had 80k miles, not one issue. I just hit 11k on my AT4, same, no issues. Love the power and mileage. Highly recommended.

On my 19 F150 King Ranch (loved truck but was a POS) there was a wire on top of battery with a small male/female connector. Twist it to unplug and it disabled the stop/start nonsense. Didn’t throw a code or light or anything I’m aware of. Saleslady had a tech show me that before I left with the truck. I had to do it but they showed me how.

I really like the Toyota Tundra but the stories that I am hearing about motor recall is making me nervous about dropping close to $80,000 on one. I have also heard and read some horror stories about the 3.0L diesel in GMC and Chevy trucks.

Sounds like you are headed for a cyber truck

I seriously wouldn't worry about either one of these. They are both very good motors now that they've dealt with their initial issues.

Buy a 21 or older Tundra with less than 100k. You get more life out of it than a 2024 Dodge, Chevy or Food.

Has that little queer cyclist that is afraid of big trucks come in and told you that you don't need a truck?
