This matters in 2015, because by dealing with this shameful disaster by replacing the phrase "migrant workers" with "slaves", we can solve the issues of drug use, single motherhood, poverty, and crime that exist in the black community today.

You do realize that forced immigration is still immigration right?
In a unit about immigration, it discusses how the slave trade affected demographics. Hell, the section in question doesn't use the phrase "migrant workers"
What it does use is the phrase "Atlantic Slave Trade" though.
And then there is bitching that they don't browbeat on the cover about slavery on a section about immigration.
The only political correctness I see here is the fact that the video maker seems to think that the African slave trade should have had a dominant place on not just one, but both pages that covered a summary of a unit on immigration of all races and nationalities.
That the situation is so fricked up we need to get the names of the authors and reviewers out there.

Such ignorance. I'm sure if the Holocaust was called a German BBQ you would say that's incorrect. Quit trying to deflect from the topic at hand.

Has nothing to do with political correctness. It is conservatives trying to whitewash our history because if one think America ever did anything that was wrong then you obviously hate freedom and wipe your arse with the Constitution.

If it is conservatives it's insanely ignorant just when liberals pull the PC BS.

Well that means slavery never happened......

The state of Texas has a very big influence on text book content (as does the state of California)

It has almost always been like that it seems. The Patriotism pride is very strong here and as you said, these books can't publish anything that makes USA look bad. I wonder how they talk about the founding of America? I assume the Native Americans just gave us this land in exchange of teaching them about the christian god and hey zesus?

As I see it, this is an insult to slaves. Migrant workers generally have choices and get paid at least something. Slaves never had any of that.
This is an attempt to whitewash history -- but to not make it seem so bad. That's not something you see from the liberal PC police.
We need to remind people how bad slavery was so we never get any ideas to try to start it again.
I would have expected the opposite - a text book referring to migrant workers as slaves.

True.
So, to be more accurate they should be called, 'involuntary migrant workers'.

1. Conservatives don't write school books for public schools. Mostly democrats.
2. You may want to do a little research on why the rebel flag is being whitewashed from our history. Hint: Democrats loved their rebel flag back in the day. And they LOVED slavery.
Remember: It was a republican who pushed for the end of it.
Good try though.

Say what? It's likely the conservatives attempting to minimize slavery.
