$5000 grant, need 1 million times that amount for NOLA streets.

FIFY, study from 2016 said it would cost $5 billion to fix every street in New Orleans LINK

I've only lived here a year but I only started noticing this recently, some of the (many) potholes on my way home from work have started to be filled, only they aren't smoothed over at all. It's like they just dump the asphalt and then head out so it dries essentially like an uneven speed bump/small mountain. It's insane.

I worked road construction once in high school when my dad would punish me with miserable labor jobs in the summer.

We would patch much higher than the street and it would leave bumps. The asphalt patches wear down and flatten over time. If you made it level when you patched it, it would eventually drop lower than the street and be a hole again.

The company chose New Orleans

Dominos should have went to the media and made a big deal that NOLA could have received some money to repair 3rd world pot holes if they gave a shite about a slain delivery driver and made it a safer place for dominos drivers and citizens

I doesn't matter how big the grant is, it will never be enough by the time the corrupt politicians all take their cut.

They won't get to even a half a percent of the potholes that need fixing in NOLA.

They won't actually get to any. It is $5k, to be given to the Dept. of Public Works. It will be skimmed off and gone, quicker than a fart in a hurricane.

How the frick aren't they Fortune 500? I thought they were the largest pizza chain in the US.

They're the largest pizza chain in the world and are #776 on the current Fortune list. There's lots of giant corporations that don't produce consumer goods.
