yeah I think most were expecting an old box style airport.
Though I wonder if they will have something to move people between terminals. If they do expand it could be a long walk between terminals.

Don't they have tunnels under the airport? Time for NOLA's first subway.

IMO its actually better this way because it allows for greater efficiencies and will likely mean a centralized security checkpoint for all airlines. TSA seems to have a better handle on those locations over others.

Yes, the new concept art certainly does sell it slightly better.

It really is quite pretty. I'll be thrilled if it comes out looking that nice. Now...get some direct flights to the Caribbean!

Some of the security checkpoints at newer or "better" airports run so damn smoothly. Hopefully they will have a much better system in place (although, its not like MSY is usually THAT bad. Miami for instance is a total clusterfrick).

The worst I have come across is EWR in Newark. They have the worst security ever. I was lucky to be so early for my flight.

NOLA will have no lines for SWA flights on that side the airport, then long arse lines for Delta or UA on the other side the airport.

I only know of one that runs under the east-west runway. But I could be wrong about that.

The rendering is more realistic in that there isn't a cop in sight. But it's balanced by the fact that the closest car seems like it was recently moving instead of having been parked there for 20 minutes.

My worst was definitely Miami. It was 2.5 hours on a Tuesday just to get through security checkpoint. It was a total clusterfrick.

I was just in Baltimore and the two TSA agents were doing a comedy routine. I'm not kidding. They were going back and forth with these rehearsed jokes for like 15 minutes. And they were smiling and laughing. I'm not used to that.

I'm used to "Mmmmhhhhmmmmm. Where yo ticket? Dat don't look like you. Mmmmmhmmmm"

The one good thing about being in Dallas and flying SW is Love Field. I get from the parking garage to my gate in 10 minutes.

Are they planning on buying out any of the property just north of this new terminal? Like say between the terminal and Veterans? That isn't exactly the best hood in Kenner and isn't the best first impression for visitors.

I do about 4 flights a week for the company I work for. I live in Baton Rouge. I drive to New Orleans to fly southwest everywhere I go. Got hundreds of thousands of points. Could care less about first class. You can make it to New Orleans to Baton Rouge in an hour if you know this route.

Take interstate to Houma Boutte exit. Then take Airline. Much easier. Or you can take the first exit the Loyola Dr. Exit and get to the airport in an hour.

The employees at the Baton Rouge airport SUCK and the attitudes are crap I don't care if you pre print the boarding pass. ATTITUDE GALORE.

My wife told me, " I would rather you have a one hour drive than a 12 hour layover!" Baton Rouge Airport board of directors piss poor to allow such a shitty place

It looks like a greenway on the entire route to and from the Interstate.

For as much flying as you purportedly do, you seem very ignorant on the operations of airports.

And how much less could you care about first class?
