The problem is they would implement the dedicated tax for that purpose. You would think that is to supplement the money already going toward infrastructure, but actually they would just dedicate that money to another "project". You end up with higher taxes and shite to show for it, meanwhile more pockets are being lined.

It was a stupid waste of money to remove monuments when the city of NOLA has so many other problems, crime and bad streets being two issues at the top of the list.
