Word, again unconfirmed, is that an NOPD recruit and field training officer did the arrest of officer shooting suspect.

a recruit and his teacher made the arrest?

Harrison: Boys tried to flee again. A young, brand new officer with his training instructor spotted him this morning. They recognized him

Harrison: Boys' handcuffs were busted, but were still on him. He was able to maneuver his arms cuffed to front and back more than once

That's what is hard to understand, where'd the gun come from? How'd he get through the cage and into the front seat?
Holloway was there to transport Boys to Central Lockup. Boys had been arrested during the previous shift, hours earlier I believe. He was cuffed and, I assume, searched and held at a district station. How does this happen?

Unconfirmed through media, but a friend on the force said the subject had a gun on him that wasn't found during the arrest. Still lots up in the air on that. May have been the murdured officer was simply transporting this guy and the arresting officer missed it. Regardless, a full investigation into how this took place will/is going to happen...

i hope that if anyone cut his handcuffs after he fled, that person gets put behind bars as well for being an accomplice.

That is why you ALWAYS search the suspect when you transport no matter how many times he/she has been searched.

This is so sad. He was simply transporting him. Somebody somewhere wasn't thorough enough and as you say might as well
Always search just in case of others mistakes
