That’s a lot of protecting and serving.

Pay records show Burke took home $245,903 last year,

This is about what Police Officers in Democratic shitholes should make for putting up with the stuff they have to deal with daily.

Glad that his OT won't be taxed anymore. I bet he can hit 300k take home.

I know what they really mean but if he "took home" $246k his gross would have been more like $315k

ETA: actually even higher considering deductibles

I'd prefer that percentage to be higher. at least their pay can be correlated to hours worked instead of some bloated city official salary that has no business making $200k for a 40 hour week.

100% agree.

Doesn’t have to be last few. Police pensions are based off your “High Three” or “High Five” years over your entire career.

Damn I didn't realize that.

Not mad at the officer, but wouldn't be more efficient for tax payers to hire more officers to cut down on overtime?

NOPD is severely understaffed and they regularly have big events down there. Between Saints games, Pelican games, TSwift concert & extra duty- I don’t really question any of that.

I don't believe most of that OT money comes from taxpayers, but even so you have to have willing applicants to hire more officers.

I have more of an issue with this type of stuff vs cops working overtime.

A Louisiana woman who purchased a Lamborghini while fraudulently obtaining Medicaid benefits is facing a fraud charge, authorities said this week.

Candace Taylor, 35, of Slidell, dubbed the "Medicaid millionaire" by the office of Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, was arrested Monday. The state Bureau of Investigation began looking into Taylor after receiving a complaint from the Louisiana Health Department saying she underreported her income to qualify for Medicaid benefits.

Maybe in big cities like New Orleans but starting pay in BR is like $40k. Definitely not worth the risk.

shite like this really pisses me off while I'm actively having to fight to keep my disabled son's coverage because our pediatrician filled out a form slightly incorrectly and they decided he no longer meets the criteria.

These articles are nothing more than weak click bait.

American journalist will be out of business within the next decade and they know it. Most of these soy boy, fragile, snow flakes never had the courage, strength, or commitment to serve. This is there way of attacking those of us with the masculinity needed to pick up a pistol and stand a post to protect others.

Learn to code soon, bitches.

I’ve noticed since joining WAFB, this is all Nak does. His “investigative” reports have been click bait garbage.

Pointed out this was happening a while back. Was shouted down. Time to hold these people accountable.
