No that isn’t fair at all.
You seemed to at least be attempting to have a rational and non hyperbolic conversation but if you don’t see the difference between violent crime and a burnout at an intersection then i don’t think there’s much left for us to discuss because that’s just not a reasonable position.
Have a nice night.

There are no repercussions. There are no rules. They can do and get away with anything. So they do whatever they want.
Keeping in mind that this follows the pretty dire report highlighting how understaffed/shorthanded the NOPD is expected to be over the next year or two. If things are this bad now where does it go from here?

Oh, somebody was physically harmed. You don't get hit by a car and land on your noggin and not be harmed. They're just treating it holistically, apparently.

Reading comprehension is hard.
Lawlessness begets lawlessness.
Those events prove just how little they fear any repercussions for ANY actions, including serious crimes.
Chaotic events lead to chaos.
I doubt you deal with the people involved in these sort of things as much as I do. They are very open about how it’s totally open season at this point.

Yea. Murdering someone isnt on the same level as driving like an idiot in an intersection, but no one cares about either so whats the difference. There are no repercussions to pretty much anything in the city.
Honestly, you can murder someone in nola and odds are you will never be caught.
And lol at you always telling someone to link you something when they call you a liberal. Dude, you have years of posts on here that are the evidence. Its ok

Nobody needs Tucker thinking for them, after watching that segment & for myself having lived in NOLA since I was 45 years old, and one of my ancestors actually with Bienville when they founded NOLA in 1699, I can think for myself. Nola has become a shite-hole, 3rd world Banana Republic. I’ve had a gun to my head twice uptown, a knife in my side on Bourbon & was jumped by about 10-12 “young thugs” that eventually blindsided me with a baseball bat fracturing my left cheek bone and woke up in Charity Hospital. The reverse discrimination in the city is insanely bad, double standards everywhere, nobody is safe, NOPD is inept & overwhelmed, there is no criminal Justice. The city survives on the fact that the Mississippi River is irreplaceable in the fact that it’s a mega port that feeds the world, NO OTHER PORT IN AMERICA has the “grain infrastructure” To export the amount of food that we do, as well as other commodities and of course O&G sector. Even for the River, the Port Authorities. River Pilots and dockage fees have ran almost 50% of shipping volume to other ports along the USG COAST. Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Corpus, Mobile etc…. Thank those groups very much (with emphasis on River Boat Pirates aka Pilots- most prima Donna group in the country- if you wanna talk good old boy racism and politics, look no further, they finally started doing some diversity years back, but that is a corrupt group that chases business out of La.)
And no other city has the European Architecture & Culture that we do (so it’s been strong enough to combat corruption on a Haiti type government level). But I finally had enough of the city & moved to the NS 2 years ago, it’s not my favorite place neither (but kids are safe, can leave doors unlocked type of safe, great public schools, better family town etc) but I’m actually looking to move out of La. Once my kids grow up. If I could pack them up now, I’d be out of here, the entire state of La. is a cesspool Banana Republic destined for corruption and failure. Huey P. Long sold us out back in the 1920’s-1930’s when he brokered a deal where Mountain West States make more money on O&G royalties off the coast of La. Then we do, if he hadn’t done that, we would be the Dubai of the USA. But we have to live with all the environmental backlash aka Cancer Alley, and our coastline erosion. If we had our own money & Huey Long not sold us away, and we didn’t have Dominion voting machines and corrupt politics, La & NOLA would be the jewel of the south. Instead, it’s moving closer to Haiti type levels.
Anyways, excuse my ramble & my typos typing on my phone, lol

Calling me liberal is one thing, calling me progressive is something else.
Though I’m less liberal now than I was 5+ years ago. Do you think the exact same way you did when you were younger?

No. I actually hate the left now and everything they support and stand for. The party of tolerance now wants me destroyed because im a straight white male. I am good for tax dollars and thats it. Ive voted for exactly one republican for president in my life(trump).
You support the lunacy that the left has become.

Well, for one, it’s not an actual war zone as depicted. If you look at the stats the metrocrime.org group put together you’ll see the rate of crime increase has been steadily slowing as the jail population has been going back up after it dropped significantly in late 2020.
That’s not to say the crime situation in New Orleans (or most other major metro areas) is “good”, because it isn’t. But the report was clearly designed for partisan purposes to cherry-pick juicy footage in order to present the image that New Orleans is descending into chaos, which is just flat out not true.
This is the same city where a 17 year old boy and three 15 year old girls carjacked a 73 year old lady, drove off in the car with the old lady hanging out the door, severing her arm and dragging her to death.
This story would be kind of shocking coming out of Mogadishu or Damascus, yet that culture doesn't think twice about shite like this.

A distinction without a difference. The people you vote are directly responsible for the shitshow that New Orleans is today, and the country at large.

Only because less liberal means more progressive.

Nope. I used to be a big proponent of live and let live. Now I hate you and everyone else that subscribes to your absurd belief system. Growth.

I didn’t get past his first sentence since he claimed the murder rate last year was up by 80%. That is a huge lie, so I turned the clip off.

What I didn’t understand was the lingo of the fine young squires waving weapons on the street in front of the convention center. What does “ooga booga! Ooga booga!” mean?
