Nagin at least seemed to try to be more business minded and tried to attract real businesses to New Orleans. Morial and Landrieu were like the city’s equivalent of some preacher’s kids who take over their daddy’s mega church and run it into the ground. Still can’t figure out how an outsider from Compton got elected in a city as insular as New Orleans

Yes, you are. And I’m stopping right here and not reading anything else you posted. Or anything else you post in this thread.
You had your chance.

Well the Republican mayor Nagin
The last Republican mayor of New Orleans was in 1872, 150 years ago, and he wasn’t even elected he was appointed during Reconstruction.
Would you say the past 150 years have gone well?

I’m not your mother, little boy. These tactics will not work on me. You can’t defend your position and automatically default to melting about who delivered the message instead of the content of said message.
You’re perfect for New Orleans. Stay there.

One of the main—among countless other—issues with NOLA politics is that the majority of the voters simply vote on name recognition alone. That’s why incumbents never lose, no matter how shitty their first term has been (Ex. A: Cantrell). That also explains how someone like Oliver Thomas just got elected to the city council despite previously being convicted of corruption charges for taking bribes while he was a New Orleans City Councilman.
Idiocracy is prophetic.

It’s a little bit apples and oranges because at least Tucker doesn’t claim to be a journalist and thus doesn’t have the same ethics to breach, but they both start from the end they want to get to and work backwards from there to justify whatever agenda they’re pushing that day, happy to be fast and loose with the truth along the way if that’s what they need to do to meet their deadline.

Man, why are people hurling insults at each other in this thread? Politics really brings out the worst in people.

Lorenz doesn’t even attempt to make sense though. and drags non public figures into her pit of misery, without the chance to object. Tucker may set people up, but at least when he says he reached out to people to come on his show, you know he isn’t bluffing

If he follows this Board, he could do an entire hour special on how New Orleans is out of hand
Do you frequent this board? An entire hour special would barely cover anything on the destruction of Nola. He could go a 24 hour segment and wouldn’t be close to being done

Exactly why they got rid of him. He didn’t play enough ball with the lighter skinned black political class that is used to running things in Nola.

Like I said, Tucker is much smarter.
I used her as an example to make a point.

Well the Republican mayor Nagin sucked and got indicted it’s not politics it’s the fricking people
If he had run as a Republican, he would have lost. We're so diverse, yet haven't had anything but a Democrat for a mayor in 150 years.
Nagin just wasn't as liberal as these other douchebags and he was actually pretty decent until he lost his mind after Katrina, etc. A segment of the population called him an Uncle Tom when he was first elected (which means he didn't kiss enough of their asses - not a bad thing).
