The best and worst attribute of New Orleans is that nobody there gives a frick. It's the most fatalistic region in our country. I love it for it. I also hate it for it.

Correct. I don't believe you or anyone else should have the right to say cities XYZ must remain home bound until the end of April when dealing with a virus that's in all likelihood going to touch every pocket of the country. This isn't a hurricane curfew.

Chef, will you be complying with said directives if they do come down?

I have to take care of my grandparents and check on a great uncle who can’t care for himself. If they initiate a multi week lock down I will absolutely still try my hardest to care for my grandparents and uncle each day while caring for my family. Or I guess if they stop me I can go clean up my starved grandparents dead remains when the lockdown is over?

Military should’ve blown up the Causeway and Twin Span while they had the chance to keep it from spreading

And the bridges over Bayou Liberty. Keep Slidell isolated because its Slidell

JBE and the state leaders aren't going to single out Nola

We can criticize his policies, but JBE is a reasonable guy who is both decent during emergencies and has nothing to lose politically. I expect that he is trying to do whatever the right thing is.

Yes - the systematic genocide of millions of people is totally the same as people being forced to stay indoors because of a global pandemic. How did I not see it before?

If we exterminate anyone who tests positive or shows symptoms the virus ends.

SFP will happily point them out to the proper authorities.

look i'm not advocating for rules against Nola

I'm saying if Nola can't act right, it should make its own rules for its own city. don't get JBE to make it a state rule so Nola isn't singled out

i'm not going anywhere near Nola anytime soon. i don't care if they run out of ER beds b/c their population wants to spread this disease and harm their fellow citizens. don't ask me to pay for your bailout, either

Your e argument seems to be based off of one bar and bourbon st. The folks on bourbon street were probably 75% from somewhere else. You are being short sighted and idiotic trying to paint a picture that New Orleans is currently one big party, but I can assure you that it is not. Traffic since last Thursday has been down considerably. The populace of New Orleans is MOSTLY being compliant with all recommended means of caution, yet you want to harp on 2 highly visible instances involving a very small percentage of the people living here and throw a hissy fit because you wrongly think THAT I’d going to be the reason for statewide restrictions, WHICH THEY ARE NOT
