NOLA is the easiest city in the CONUS to isolate.

I'm just saying. If it's as bad as y'all are predicting, this might need to be considered.

Naw. LA residents are either allowed to freely live their lives or they aren't. I'm not telling Janice from Gentilly that she can't go to the grocery store because of New Orleans' St. Patrick's Day's celebration and then telling Willy from Lake Chuck that he can go hang at the neighborhood pool hall because their celebration wasn't as highly attended.

Yeah, it's weird seeing a few posters who I would assume rage against shutdown say we have to take one for the team.

I am a conservative that will be have voted for Trump in the past two elections come November that also is against big government and for state's rights.

I am fine with state governments doing whatever they must to limit the spread of the Wuhan virus. I will willingly comply with any home quarantines the state of Texas implements upon me.

If they did this for another reason I would maybe have a problem with it and would fight it. But in this case, I don't see why and or how someone would argue against it.

Nah. You can get supplies here in this.

I don’t disagree with Slow about a lot of people’s stupidity, though.

This is going to sound stupid, but this disease isn't lethal enough for me to think the authorities should be going through such extreme measures. But, I am not a medical expert and I understand flattening the curve, we don't want to end up like Italy, can't overwhelm our medical system, etc., etc.

yet you want to harp on 2 highly visible instances involving a very small percentage of the people living here and throw a hissy fit because you wrongly think THAT I’d going to be the reason for statewide restrictions, WHICH THEY ARE NOT

so the PC today directly about these issues didn't happen?

Nola.com article

New Orleans officials are considering putting in place additional restrictions in the city in an effort to ramp up the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, according to several government sources.

The talks underway Sunday come a day after New Orleans police broke up large gatherings in the Irish Channel and on Bourbon Street as Cantrell admonished people who weren't heeding calls by officials to practice "social distancing."

whether you like it or not, these are the direct reasons for the new restrictions

not reasons,, excuses

a good number of these proposed laws restricting interaction are purely so said politicians can claim they did all they could when they run for re-elections

it's all about the ERs

Orleans parish is one of those where a VERY HIGH percentage of the population also uses ERs for primary care

it's also just going to be extremely hard hit in terms of % of population

Didn’t Edwin Edwards say that, except he said Mississippi..

I get sick of New Orleans as well, worked in the city for 30 years, but some of y’all say some stupid shite...

just look at the daily increases. when we actually get testing, it's going to exponentially increase and then go back to a normal scale (with a larger base). LA went from 0 cases to one of the largest per capita states in like 3 days

Look at this map. You can say that in every coastal state that there was one area screwed the rest of each state.

I really don't understand the point of this thread.
