Lots of land, but "neglected" is how many N.O. East residents tell us they feel. Should it secede from the city? More at 10.

will have link to the full story as soon as it becomes available

ETA: Now with link from WDSU

Honestly, that would probably be best for everyone. The east would benefit from local control and more focused allocation of resources.

NOLA would get better crime stats.

Dividing the parish into two cities would make both easier to police as well.

I say, go for it.

Heck, the lower 9 and Arabi could be their own city too.

NOLA Mayor would probably end up like a Mayor-President like BR does it I imagine

Half of the fricking place is still vacant. I say bulldoze it all and build expensive white people houses with 5 acre lots

Make them build 12 ft above sea level and one day you'd have a vibrant fishing community.

You must not understand how New Orleans works

This would be like north Baton Rouge supporting St George

No this would be like Scotlandville wanting to secede from Baton Rouge and form its own city.
