That's why you should always stop in Slidell, fuel up at the local gas station and stop by our world famous Scuttlebutts.

I still laugh about getting gas across from Joe Robbie.

Area is so shitty, that even the Black clerk at the gas station wouldnt open the door at night. He made me slide the credit card under the door, and give him an exact fill up number.

He was scared as hell, and he was inside behind bars and glass.

Every time I stayed with a friend from nola in college their parents stressed the importance of watching your back so much it was annoying. I now see why that I'm older so you're generalization is wrong. There are people from nola who don't mind admitting it's dangerous

Yeah, New Orleans is kind of like the San Francisco of the South.

Memphis>>>>>>>>>>> N.O. as far as being a shithole.

I agree with that. Memphis has all of the bad characteristics of Nola and none of the good ones

Saint said he walks through NOLA East all the time at 3 am and never feels unsafe so you're obviously lying.

You mean intelligent people? Why visit New Orleans when they are so many other great places that are actually safe and enjoyable?

Run low on fuel in downtown Baltimore, then you'll know scary.

Hell, run low on fuel on the elevated part of I-110 north of the capital curves in BR, take any exit to pump gas and try not to die

Memphis is more self-aware though. My fiancée goes to school in Memphis so I drive up for a few days every month. We were walking back from Beale St and a woman drove by, noticed us, and yelled out that we weren't in a safe area.

Apparently my fiancée can be an Olympic speed walker with the proper motivation...
