Yeah crazy huh that 400k plus people live here and only 12 million visitors every year. Surprise the crime rate isn't higher than what it is.

He had just beaten an old man with a crutch. He's already established he isn't caring.

I checked NOLA.com's crime page for any mention of this, and nothing came up. So there was at least one victim (the driver), possibly two (the old man, though I'll shed no tears for him if the bike was stolen) and no report? That would be even more evidence that people just don't bother reporting crimes in the city because they know nothing will come of it.

NOLA did have some interesting crimes, doe:

-3 robbed via knife in one of the supposedly nice areas (outside Le Pavillon in the CBD)
LINK

-St. Roch Tavern robbed by a man in a wig and bra
LINK

No description of the suspect is given in the knife robbery. Detailed description of the suspect is given in the tavern robbery, race excluded (as is always the case for the site).

Also, the "stay in groups of 3 or more" rule didn't help the people being robbed by the knife wielder. And whoever writes the articles for NOLA is doing a shite job.

Jesus Christ. This is the opening to an article about a son/father/son's girlfriend (I think, the article is so poorly written that she may be the father's girlfriend) raping someone:

quote:

As father-son activities go, Dewing Hickerson and Dewing "Dwayne" Alveris would have been better off taking up fishing or having a catch in the backyard. Instead, according to New Orleans police, they operated a prostitution ring and engaged in violence that sent both to state prison on Tuesday (June 27).

Good job, Ken Daley (author), that's definitely an appropriate intro to a story about rapists.

Even worse, the girlfriend, who held the rape victim hostage at gunpoint while the other two did their thing, didn't get any prison time. frick this city.
