Consider yourself lucky. All you have to do is pay that small tax for the privilege of enjoying a great show in the greatest city on earth. They could have towed you. They were towing vehicles left and right as if they got hefty bonuses for hitting a certain number.

That’s not entirely untrue. Some years ago, a NOPD shot a puppy in its own fenced yard. For the haters, not a pit bull or mix of one. Maybe a Catahoula type pup.

The last regime (which included Helena) wanted to go to private property- and scan license plates in houses driveways even

I think JP and Helena are going to upset some of yall as this year unfolds

They been out en masse

Instead of making it a fun place to come, and creating tax revenue from regional tourists wanting to return - they are going to exhaust anyone that actually wants to go downtown.

Not the pup I recall reading about. Unless the photo was incorrect. If it wasn’t, then they’ve shot more pups.

Legally parking is the easiest thing to possibly do. I have been ticketed and towed before and I have been in the wrong 100% of the time trying to park closer rather walk an extra few blocks.

Why come up with an excuse? I’ve made confetti out of a parking ticket in front of the officer who put it on my windshield. They don’t care.

Meter maids get paid to write tickets and put them on windshields. What happens after that ain’t their job.

The city knows people throw away parking tickets. They went as far as offering amnesty periods in the 90s, with half off the total fines, to tempt people to give the city some money instead of none.

Ban-able offense in my opinion.

Exactly, last time i came i got a camera ticket for going 17 in a 15. In a city completely reliant on tourism not sure with they are bent on fricking with their golden goose.

I hope they suspend your license. There are plenty of parking places on side streets. You tear up my boulevard, you need to pay.
There are absolutely no spots available.

But I would park near Claiborne and catch an Uber.

I don’t know why you’re getting shite on for parking on the neutral ground for a parade. If you’re not familiar with the area and rules and everyone else is parking there then it makes sense to think you can too.

Nola is a fairly lawless place except parking tickets are a major revenue source. If you’re smart then you’ll throw it in the trash and never return to that shithole city. But if you must return to the shithole city then pay it. Certainly do not waste your time trying to fight it. The city purposely makes it difficult to fight. If you don’t pay it then next time your car gets a boot or towed.

How would you even argue this excuse? When he gets towed the next time?

It is such a hassle to fight a parking ticket. If you’re too poor to pay it then you’re too poor for Mardi Gras.

I don’t live in the city but used to work there everyday.

I guess maybe I’m an old man now (35). I live in downtown thib. When people park against traffic I want to boot the shite out of them. Some kids moved in across the street. It only took one week for them to learn me and my neighbor weren’t having that.

To preference this. It’s almost all exclusively street parking. Can’t have these heathens just pulling up anywhere they please.
