New mattress recommendations

Wife and I currently have a king size Serta but we're looking for something much more firm since she had back surgery last year. How are the online options, such as Purple and Tuft and Needle? How to find the best deal?

I hear Casper mattresses are very nice.

A firm latex mattress from IKEA; seriously I have one and love it

We bought a Dream Cloud online about 6 months ago. It is soft, but supportive and firm. It is by far the best mattress I've owned and I tell everyone about it. If you're looking to sink into something then its not for you, more like a floating feeling.

I've been sleeping on a Purple for about 8 months.
It's typically rated about a 6/10 in firmness. I was unsure about how I felt about it at first (and my gf really didn't like it), but they give you a 100 day trial. So, we slept on it for two months and both love it now.
It truly sleeps cool and seems to be great as far as support goes. I sleep on my stomach, and it helps to keep my hips from sinking in too far. My arms used to fall asleep a lot, as well, and do so less frequently.
Some say that if the sleeper is on the lighter side, they may not enjoy it as much - because they don't weigh enough to compress the Purple mattress material. But my gf (no pics) weighs 110 lbs and absolutely adores the bed.
Worth a shot IMO

Go to a store and lie on every mattress in the store to see what you like. Someone else's recommendation isn't very useful for a mattress because everyone sleeps different and has different preferences.
As for the online, mattress in a box choices, I think the jury is still out on their longevity. We bought a Casper for our little used guest bedroom. It is quite comfortable, and fits our needs, but just looking at it after we unboxed it made me dubious it would have a useful life of more than 5 years with every day use.
If you really want to dig deep into research, google mattress underground and start reading that site.

We have a Brooklyn Bedding Latex mattress and we like it. I did recently add a Wool mattress topper and honestly that thing is amazing. They claim it regulates body temp and i was skeptical but it really does. I would recommend getting that no matter what type of bed you get. Also look into the Cariloha sheets

Go see my buddy Mitch at BRMattress and tell him what you're looking for. You can get a great mattress for $1,000.

This is the one we went with about 2 months ago. It's been good so far.

This is what we did. Thinking we wanted a Tempur-Pedic, we would up getting a Serta I-Comfort because it felt better to us..

I went with a Saatva (the standard firmness) in the 14inch last year and I love it. The pillow top is just soft enough and me being a big dude (230lbs) the 14inch thickness gives really good support. With the base they sell it came to 1250, free delivery and old mattress removal.

This. We tried Nectar and Casper. Didn't love them. Went with the Saatva and it has been incredible. Ours is king size but they can do different firmness on each side so my wife (no pics) is in the 8-10 and im in the 6-7. Been great

Sleep on the floor for a week. Then any mattress will seem like heaven.
