Unless it’s a small Indian station with one pump, tipping is not the norm. These people are paid. I tipped the first time at a Royal Farms and the kid was elated. You don’t tip.

I wasn't aware of that until I went to New Jersey several years ago. I pulled up to the pumps and was getting ready to put gas in my car, then I was stopped by an attendant telling me I couldn't pump my own gas.
On the flip side of that I don't know of any place in Baton Rouge or surrounding areas that does pump the gas for you, some women would probably like that.

We used to have them. There was a Mobil station at the corner of Perkins and College that did full service. It was basically where the parking lot for the Walgreens and autozone is now. I loved it because there was always a few pieces of bubble gum they would give you after you paid.

I am old enough to have worked at a Full Service gaa station in high school. Fill er up, wash the windshield, check the oil and tire pressure, toss any garbage you handed me, etc.
