Not at all. The more versatile routes there are, the less buildup at the major intersections. If anything, BR's traffic problem is limited versatility and/or routes to get from one side of the city to the other.

I just don't see the demand for people that would exit specifically there. If you have a traffic study to show me I'm all ears.

Otherwise, the cost isn't worth it IMO.

ETA: I'm not saying you're wrong about BR having lack of routes across town, I just don't think an exit a Pecue is the answer.

Well I gave one example on the previous page.

Also, it gives people a more direct route to and from Woman's Hospital.

Could also be connected to Reiger Rd so a lot of the big trucks could have a more direct route to/from the interstate.

There is no ONE be all end all answer. It is going to take lots of incremental improvements.

I use to live in Dutchtown lakes. This would have been convenient. My office is still off of 74 so a ramp off of Bluff or 74 would be great.

Prairieville residents/Highland Road/Perkins/Burbank area residents/Woman's Hospital for Emergency Response - straight shot.

There's room for an on ramp at Bluff Road, probably not much for an off ramp. Just purchase the land from the church on that corner.

This. The major congestion in the mornings are people going down airline from prairieville. Those that use the interstate get off at the highland exit. If you are going to create an interchange to ease traffic, why move one further down airline. Why not move one closer to prairieville? Seems like that would help out airline why traffic more.

All have exits already.

They have lights and sirens, they don't need an exit to get somewhere quickly.

Lived in P'ville for a long time. Moved back into EBR and would probably have moved into Santa Maria if an entrance/exit ramp was there (or in process). Traffic on Perkins getting to Highland/I-10 is a fricking joke.

Pecue is much more important than the clusterfrick at the bottom of the bridge

think there was a bit of sarcasm in his statement meaning that widening past the bridge going east should be priority over all else, and I agree

I just get tired of seeing every traffic improvement project shite on. There is no easy fix to the bridge situation. It was a terrible design to begin with. While I agree this needs to be a priority, it shouldn't hinder progress elsewhere.

They had their chance and waited. Now it's too late because of the development.

They could probably put something at 74 and I-10. I'm not sure what the kind of interchange is called, but there is room on the northwest and southeast sides if they bought up some land. I agree that the other corners could not be used because of apartments and houses.

Edit: Called a 4 Ramp Partial Cloverleaf. Wikipedia is your friend

I'm all for it. This would cut 15 minutes off of my commute. The Siegan light is a pain in the arse. But I'd much rather fixing I-10 at the bridge.

I'm sure it'll be finished right around the time they finish the BR Loop.

Yeah but not enough. That's why you have the clusterfrick on Highland Road and Hwy 73 every weekday at rush hour.

I guess we both strongly disagree on this. Not that I'm trying to "prove" you wrong or anything.

There's one for each of those areas you listed

I think it has more to do 10 not being 3 lanes to 73.

ETA: Think about how crappy traffic was before they widened 10 to out to Highland. The big issue IMO is you've got too many cars that need to pass Highland in the afternoon to get to 73, so dropping from 3 lanes to 2 at Highland makes a giant bottleneck. Couple that with people getting on at Highland, and you get a lot of traffic. On top of that, you have people exiting 73 going slow in the right lane, causing further delays. Once you pass 73, there are no issues. If there were 3 lanes all the way to 73, traffic flow on that stretch of 10 would be improved immensely.

You're talking about the interstate. I'm talking about Highland Road and Hwy 73. We're arguing points that are perpendicular to each other.
