Saw this today.

Council paves way for new on ramp

quote:

The Metro Council has approved hiring a group to survey land for a future Greenlight project involving an interchange at Pecue Lane and I-10.

The proposed project would include multiple through and turn leans on Pecue Lane, an entrance ramp and exit ramp on both sides of the interstate and the replacement of the two-lane overpass bridge.

quote:

"We either have to go down to Highland or get off at Siegen and the Siegen light is ridiculous," said Rob Johnson. "I think they have to, it's dangerous the way it is."

This lazy bastard.

quote:

"There's a lot of land around that area that would probably become an economic driver for the parish with the addition of an interchange," said Guillory.

Bye bye property value.

They need this, and one at Bluff Road.

It probably is needed, but it sure is going to ruin my quick way to get from Woman's Hospital area to LSU.

It does not. It simply adds a 3rd on/off ramp within a 3 mile stretch of interstate. The purpose is to alleviate airline hwy traffic, i suppose. But wouldn't an on ramp much closer to P'ville work better than one sandwiched between 2 existing ramps? I don't see it really doing much though, than devaluing properties in that area.

Bluff Road makes sense.

How many of you live near this area?

think there was a bit of sarcasm in his statement

meaning that widening past the bridge going east should be priority over all else, and I agree

Or they need to put a concrete divider between the right lane and left lane. So much traffic is cause by people going in the exit only lane and cutting everyone else off by getting over into the left lane to get on 10

They had their chance and waited. Now it's too late because of the development.

I agree with you though. Hwy 621 at 73 is horrendous in the morning.

This. And expand the lane there at the bridge where it bottle necks.

Well it could potentially reduce traffic on Siegen, Highland and Airline

For example... Right now people in the Jefferson/Tiger Bend area have to go to Highland or Siegen to get to the interstate. With the Stumberg to Pecue extension already underway this would give them an easier path to and from the interstate. Keeping them off of Airline, Highland, and Siegen

Booooo.

This was always my traffic free route to the east side the interstate.

Seems like a useless exit to me. Is the two miles from Highland to Siegen really too far to go? There are much greater needs IMO.
