That what I did after hearing about this podcast from the OT.

I Just jumped right in!

*I would also like to recommend the podcast called Snap Judgement.
I think many of y'all will like it too.

Yep! A thread on here introduced me to him. It was around the time Blueprint was wrapping up. By the time I listened to the first few he released the last Blueprint. I was hooked from day 1.

Some topics last several episodes but this is the start of a new one.

This looks to be a one off episode (BLITZ)

Same. After finishing the first part of BfA, I downloaded all of the free ones available on iTunes and blew through those.

Ghosts of the Ostfront. It's about the eastern front of WWII in Europe.
Yes, please. I cannot get enough of the Russian Front these days. That and the invasion of France are high on the list.

But 6 hours WTF

I promise you, when you get to the end you will wish it is longer. Just listen in spurts. I usually listen when I am on planes or driving long distances.

Ghosts of the Ostfront was better IMO

I disagree. Blueprint for Armageddon, I'd first have to acknowledge, is perhaps my favorite history/political podcast ever. Carlin was masterful and detailed in it.

Ghosts of the Ostfront simply didn't have enough meat in it IMO for the subject matter, granted it came out much earlier and I think Carlin wasn't doing as exhaustive work at that time in his podcasts.

The idea of Carlin doing an EXHAUSTIVE WWII podcast, or breaking it up into themes, is something I will never give up dreaming of.

His approach is so thoughtful, contemplative, and even tempered that it's just absolutely refreshing to listen to.

While I absolutely loved Ghosts and Blueprint, I think I'll vote for Prophets of Doom as my favorite. It was a topic I had absolutely no knowledge of going into it, but it was enthralling. It was also a bit different because it focused on a few people rather than armies. The three of these are almost like choosing a favorite child, though.

I opened up Podcast Addict this morning to download today's PMT, and I audibly celebrated when I saw the Hardcore History image pop up.

Nice, I've been on an intense WWI kick the last couple of months. It's pretty depressing though.

Did anybody enjoy King of Kings? I love the podcast but couldn't figure out where he was going with that one. Seemed unfocused.

What's this new one about?

Eta- I'm assuming a-bombs and I'm guessing the two we dropped or the arms race?

I agree with this. I've always found the Reformation and the Catholic vs Protestant battles of this time frame to be extremely fascinating but I had never heard of this event. Absolutely worth the listen.

I listened to like an hour of it and sort of lost interest. It did a feel a little disjointed but I'm also significantly less enthralled with that historical time period.

Carlin had a short podcast, about an hour, on the progression of aerial bombing in WWII that was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it as well. Free on his website last I had checked.

It got a lot better as it went on. The last episode was excellent...probably much better than the first two. I think some of that feel of being unfocused or disjointed may have been due to the fact that there just isn't much historical record regarding the Persians before their interactions with the Greeks in the 5th century BC.

But by the time he got to first invasion of Greece and then down to Alexander, it was fricking excellent. His description of Marathon was awesome.

Update: I'm roughly 2 hours into it and absolutely love this one. He's just now getting into the thermonuclear warheads (H-Bombs) that we created around 1950 after we found out the Soviets had come up with an atom bomb and his description of the moral dilemma we had during that time is pretty incredible. This one is pretty damn awesome.

I got into his blueprint for armageddon series, got all the way to the second to last one to realize just that ONE episode wasn't on spotify so I had to use YouTube. Killed my data totally worth it finishing the series though. Guy is wonderful to listen to and does an excellent job relaying info and telling the stories.

Where's the best place to get them? Spotify is super limited and doesn't have all the ones I want to listen to. My 40 mile daily drive one way is killing me with the same music every day.
