Hardcore History

quote:

The Asia-Pacific War of 1937-1945 has deep roots. It also involves a Japanese society that's been called one of the most distinctive on Earth. If there were a Japanese version of Captain America, this would be his origin story.

Should be a good one. Enjoy. Also available on the HH podcast app

Thanks OP, I sincerely appreciate the heads up. I was re-listening to Wrath of the Khans while I was doing some house hold chores, sat down to sip a beer and check the rant. Thanks man

The Rape of Nanking is going to be...an interesting sequence to listen to. I wonder if he’ll hold back at all with it?

Is this going to be a series or just a single show?

Seeing as it has an I behind it, I would think it’s a multi part episode.

frick yes.

I hate when he tries does just one episode. When he does a series, he does better.

I don’t know, Celtic Holocaust and Prophets of Doom were single servings and excellent

I thought Destroyer of Worlds was a pretty good one.

Certain topics just don’t warrant a series. Nothing wrong with those, they just aren’t as in depth.

They’re still really good though

Ok here it is. We called it "Supernova in the East". It's a part 1 set-up show kicking off a series. I hope you like it. Thanks for being so patient!

From DC on Twitter... it’s a series.

Is Carlin’s main goal to not do a whole lot of shows about America because there’s already so much information out there about US History? Not that I’m complaining, he does a damn good job introducing people into a very complex topic. I wonder how much of this series will cover the US involvement in that hemisphere?

The American side of WW2 has been done to death.
So has the civil war. I think he tries to tackle more obscure parts of history.

His episode The American Peril was a great one dealing with the Spanish American War

And honestly...the US is just super young when it comes to history.

I need to start these. I love history and have never listened to a single one.

It was a really interesting show. People have no clue of the innate violence that bubbles just beneath the thin veneer of “civilization”
