New Dog Owner looking for advice

Just rescued a beautiful mutt dog (the best kind). I believe Revvy is a doberman/beagle mix with a dash of something else thrown in but that's neither here nor there.
Done a ton of research and am looking for some very specific advice for things that I would rather get input from OT dog owners on.
Recommended food? Price is not a consideration. I was set on Taste of the Wild until a slew of reviews have popped up from dog owners claiming they have used it for years until recently because their dogs have been getting sick. Not sure if this is a misinformation campaign or a change in the manufacturing but please chime in if you use this brand and haven't or have had problems.
Dog training websites or programs. Ive already started some basic training and am constantly reading but would love to hear from any seasoned dog owners.
Lastly, has anyone had a bitch that went into heat after 1 year of age? Based on the info I have I estimate her to be 11 months and would like to have her spayed after the first heat cycle.

You'll get advice when I get pictures of the pup. 
But really, for food you can't go wrong with Science Diet.
Training, try and find a good local program. There was a guy in BR named Dick Russell who taught classes when I got my dog. He's sadly passed away but I believe someone has taken over his program.
Spaying, get it done asap before her first heat cycle.

Food: Science Diet
Dog Training: if interested in a service, your vet can direct you to someone reliable in your area
Spay: don't wait for the first heat. Do it now. Waiting for a heat cycle increases chances of health problems in the future such as cancer

I use Nutrisource for my boxer and he loves it. He was always a very picky eater and he eats the hell out of this stuff.
Training: get small treats and shower her with praise when she does whatever it is your telling her to do and give her a small treat each time. They will learn quick. I never had any professional teach me how to train my dog and I find he does good for a boxer. Somethings you just can’t teach a boxer. Like to not go nuts when new people come around

I've been feeding my dog Wellness Grain Free Core (puppy mix until she was 18 months). She's a beagle mix and her coat is like silk.
I also always have an elk antler around for her to chew on so she's not chewing on things she shouldn't be chewing on. Helps the teeth too.

My lab, 7 years 10 months, was on Pedigree for years, then Beneful. Never had problems on these except for switching brands without mixing to get her stomach used to it. She was spayed after 11 months I believe, and hadn't had a problem with her.

For food, stay away from stuff with grain and fillers.
A lot of good choices for dog foods, w/no grains and garbage in it.
We like to mix it up and buy a couple of different brands, and mix them together. then 2 new flavors,etc.

Nothing wrong at all the Diamond family of dog foods. That includes Taste of the Wild.
I know the company well. They have very good quality control and make very good products.
Why wait to spay the dog??
