The app updates/what’s new are in mandarin or the other one. Good luck knowing what has been changed in an update. Every image displaying the app has Chinese in it along with just a little English. The main app description in English is clearly focused on Chinese culture.

They had to have worked the system to get app to pop up or the US has a bigger China problem internally than we realize. Outside of chinese Americans if Americans are downloading this app and inputting personal info public education in this country is worse than we think which was pretty bad in some areas at least.

Considering that they make the phones, I just assume they’re already doing that regardless.

They are training AI based off photogammetry/scans from user's phones.

The company says it was opt-in, but that is dubious considering people don't normally read TOS pages and they just wanted to play a game.

You guys realize that Trump opposes the TikTok ban, right?

His logic is pretty sound. He'd rather the Chinese collect data on us that our own government do it if we forced then to sell TikTok to a US company.

The stated reasons for signing up (as seen on Reddit) would be familiar to conservatives, frick Zuckerberg and the three letter agencies. Horseshoe theory.

except you don’t.

Pokémon was tracking gps data, it didn’t have a backdoor to anything and everything on your phone. classic Johnny tho.

We’ve seen this before. Everyone thought Japan was doing the same with chinpokomon but it was just a fad.

The amount of people who never saw this South Park episode is sad.

And the very major detail that "Chinpokemon" was a Southpark episode.

Oh so not having a backdoor to everything on your phone disqualifies something from collecting your personal data? Have you even read Niantec's privacy policy? They collect much more than simply GPS data.

lmao. Classic KK.

Is there not one American TikTok ripoff that can be downloaded?

Why are seemingly half the apps on the App Store some foreign nonsense?

Let’s steal their technology for a change. They’ve proven the demand for the product. Don’t pay them a damn dime for it.

Classic know-it-all Johnny. Takes a hastily crafted comment where the details weren’t crystal clear and tries to use it as a gotcha.

whatever gets your dick hard tho bro.

Most people have not had real Chinese food.

I would bet the large majority would not like authentic Chinese food.

He was for it for several years. He then met with the largest American investor in TikTok, got a large campaign donation, and LITERALLY the next day announced a change in his position.
