New Ascension Parish neighborhoods owning their own roads

Hmm. That doesn't seem like it would play nice with all the rules and laws around public funds.

Seems odd to me this isn't built into the property taxes, the property taxes on improved residential lots is significantly higher than the raw land.
I am curious how this would work out for the neighborhoods, while not in AP our neighborhood roads are private due to being gated and we just got quotes to repave at $160k-200k per mile.

Why must Baton Rouge suburbs be such a joke?
Is Prairieville, Denham Springs, Walker, and Zachary really the best that the 225 has to offer for suburbs?

I'm with you on that. When you go other places and see what it is supposed to be like you wonder. When will Louisiana start doing anything that remotely makes sense.

I bet the private roads will be maintained and fixed a lot more quickly. You will also see many more gated subdivisions.
