Some sort of fight in the food court had everyone running. Some people were yelling there was an active shooter. I didn't grab anything on the way out. Just took what I already planned to buy. Originally thought I would go back and pay for it after Christmas, but frick Macy's.

No i wouldn't. It's not right, not the right example and ... After all that I'm afraid that id be the guy caught on video grabbing the bag of Oreos and walking out and either made a public laughing stock at best or unemployed at worst ( prob both)
ETA ... Just read a story about a cop that stole a $15 t shirt 10+ yrs ago was fired and banned from working as a cop again. Seemed a little drastic and there probably more to it... But I firmly believe that if I did steal something in a mob event...I would be the one in TV and fired over a cheap thing

I am sure some have, but since that time they have also graduated high school and then went on to become productive members of society.
Hell, when I was 10-12 I used to steal baseball cards, candy, and school supplies. I ended up getting caught stealing a pen I needed for school, but my dad refused to buy because it wasn't on the supply list. Got banned from the store, the shite beat out of me by my dad, and got to do one of those behind the scenes scared straight Angola visits.

No, I wouldn't. In fact I've walked back in to stores when I realized they gave me too much change. It's a thing for me.
