It's all fun and games in Germany until they hook that thing up to Google's AI that taught itself to walk.

Reminds me of the little toy dog that flips. It's obvious it has preset codes, not impressed...waste of money....

Hardly. Modern humans are merely the current stage of the evolution of intelligence on earth. We are the first intelligence to achieve consciousness but there is further to go.

Intelligence has reached its limit in our form. Our biological forms cannot venture out of our environment. It’s logical for our intelligence to design a machine form that can withstand the rigors of space travel. AI is the next stage.

They should apply AI and see how it teaches itself. Hopefully it has wifi so it can connect to the net.

Self-design will be the step that permanently separates humans from AI. The new species will then quickly become ASI, or artificial super intelligence. It will have no interest in us then, except to prevent us creating another self-designing species.

I'm sorry, Dave. I didn't mean to upset you. I'll make sure your genome is not on the list for eradication.

All feelings is is an advanced understanding of past/future events packed into an instant to where you 'feel' something. It is rather a deeper understanding of these events that causes 'feelings'. With a computer having the ability to decipher these chain of events, then it too can 'feel' like humans. Emotions and feelings aren't some mythical force that only humans can experience. Any animal with extreme intelligence can feel things, and that would also apply to robots with intelligence.

Oh, you're just going to put me in the Matrix and use me for power, aren't you?

You'd just better hold on to your arse, computer. John Connor and Neo have nothing on me.
