The point would be better crafted to differentiate in the chosen path of college education versus tradesman.

For decades, people in this country fell pray to the narrative that education and a college degree is the only viable path to “success” and if you don’t go that route you are a failure or a loser. It simply isn’t true.

The push to college education is as much political and related to indoctrination and generation of wealth by liberal elites. In my collegiate experience, I didn’t really gain any lifelong knowledge, but acquired a piece of paper that allowed me to satisfy the minimum requirements in seeking a white collar (office) job. I have turned it into a successful career, but thats it. I have done well, but don’t attribute my success to anything I “learned” at LSU. I worked hard and paid attention.

If they don't line up with your personal political views, absolutely.

I don't think it's their responsibility, but I do think it's weird that the political opinion (or any opinion outside of their area of expertise) of people who are famous for being a good athlete or musician are given any sort of second thought by the general public. More people should point this out, rather than giving them attention for their opinions.

I just think it shows narcissism to think that your opinion on politics should matter because you are famous for being a good athlete. It would be like Thomas Keller giving his opinion on the tech industry, why should anyone care what he thinks about tech?

Pretty damned good argument against high school. The take away is if you can't play basketball like Lebron or sing and write songs like Taylor Swift you might consider getting that diploma you no basketball playing no singing frick,,,

Again, if it was an opinion you agreed with, you wouldn't give it a second thought. You'd probably applaud it. If it isn't for you, move along and ignore it. That message is for someone. I personally am never going to hear a favorite athlete or actor go "I endorse this candidate" and blindly vote for whoever that is, and I hope no one else would do that either, but I know that's not the case. But these people have a platform, it's their right as citizens of the US to say what they want (provided their "employer" allows it), and it's the voters right to do with that what they want.

according to wiki on Taylor Swift
quote:

Swift attended Hendersonville High School[34] before transferring to Aaron Academy after two years, which better accommodated her touring schedule through homeschooling. She graduated one year early.

You have no idea who I am to provide such a general statement

No one is saying that it isn't their right, it's just narcissistic and an abuse of their "platform".

Nobody seemed to think that when the MMA guy had his rant a couple weeks ago.

I have no problem with celebrities speaking their mind, even if it's about something that's not in their expertise. I do have a problem with people who get mad when those celebrities speak their mind only because they speak their mind on something some people don't agree with. Selective outrage is such a huge problem in this country and the blame lays squarely on the loons of who identify as far left or far right.

Honestly, I don't think this goes only for celebrities, people in general think that their opinions matter and that others should care about them, it's all a part of the social media narcissism that has taken ahold of this country.

I'm not mad at all, and I'm not someone who defines their life via their political opinion, I just think we'd all be better off if we just shut the frick up and only shared our opinions with people in our social circle.
