I hope by Openly Carry you mean it was holstered somewhere visible. Because if you're mowing your lawn and holding a gun at the same time I can see why they called the cops.

Regularly mowing your yard at 7am is a dick move. Of course you are free to mow yard at 7am but why do it just to be a dick.

You're everything wrong with the second amendment in the same way that YouTube comments are everything wrong with the first.

not that you have to have a reason to open carry while mowing grass but why?
Not judging because I've done it multiple times to take out snakes and to take out stray dogs.

I have no problem with someone mowing at 7 a.m. It's your yard, so YOLO the frick out of that.

The gun thing is a big weird, but I mean I wouldn't bitch, let alone call the cops.

If you have close neighbors and mow before 9 AM on the weekend, you are kind of an a-hole.

I'm not sure why you now with a sidearm but I'm a gun guy so more power to you. Your neighbor is weird for not feeling safe because you have a sidearm while mowing.

My judgement is that both of you are in the wrong.

1. I'm not familiar wit the guns laws of Texas but even without an "open carry" law wouldn't perfectly legal for you to have a firearm on your person on your own property?

2. Why would you want to cut your grass with your pistol on you? I've been a CCP holder for my entire adult life and just about never go anywhere without my .44. But I cannot say I've ever had the thought to have my pistol on me while mowing the grass.

From the time I put my clothes on in the morning until I put my pajamas on to go to bed at night I have atleast 1 usually 2 firearms on my person. I find it more comfortable to do yard work with an OWB holster so that's what I use. I'm not going to be a helpless victim of crime.

so you're crazy

got it

One of the things I don't like about moving is the fear I'll end up next to someone like you or the chick in the other thread

Yes, she called the cops because I took my daughter for a walk around the block as well as just generally having it on my property.

acceptable reason would be if he lived out in the country and regularly saw snakes while cutting the grass, only good snake is a dead one

our HOA has an 8am for weekdays and 9am weekends bylaw for lawn maintenance. it's fricking killing me. I swear I stared at my grass for 2 hours before I could hop on the mower yesterday.

Shoot each blade of grass to trim it. Take the mower out of the equation.
