That might be a tad much for a residential area

Give the dog a snoot full of cayenne spray..I think it is cayenne mixed with water and a little Dawn soap.

I had the same issue a few years back, but the pit was aggressive towards my wife and kids as well as my dogs. He nearly knocked out the planks of the fence.
I talked w/ my neighbor. He kept the dog inside from then on until a few months later when he got rid of it. (Turns out he was keeping it for a kid. He wasn't very fond of the dog.)

Hopefully, your neighbor will be reasonable, if not call animal control, and document, document, document. Get videos of the their dogs behavior.
If they "accidently" get into your yard and you have to take action, it may help w legal issues later.

So he’s attempting a breaking and entering? In Louisiana you can legally shoot to kill to PREVENT the unlawful entry of your property. Just saying.

Tell the neighbor they have to put chain link fencing along their side of the fence. Tell them you’ll help, but they have to pay and it has to be done immediately.

In Austin, they don't take kindly to killing animals. Regardless. They'd expect me to offer my dogs as a sacrifice.

Buy a pound of habaneros and boil them in 2 gallons of water. Put that in a super soaker. Spray dog if it sticks its head in your yard.

Dog wont want to get in your yard if you get him a few times

It has to be something like this or they’ll just dig under it.

Man they're not going to stop. In my town last week there was a post on the neighborhood watch page whereas a pitbull went after the neighbor's cat and the cat climbed into the engine compartment of this guys Grand Prix (fibreglass front end style). The dog ripped off the front of the car and killed the cat. Un fricking real. Be prepared to kill. Stay vigilant because they will not stop no matter what month, day or year.

Kind of what I was afraid of. And it's only been reinforced by this thread. I called 311 to see what I could do. Since the dog lunged at my girlfriend, I can file an aggressive dog report or something to that extent. My girlfriend and I opted not to file a report this time, however next time we will.

I'm going to Lowe's after work to buy a few more fence boards and some chain link. I have access to a shop where I can cut it down and only cover the bottom of the fence.

I'm also going over to talk to the neighbor. My blood pressure will have gone down by then. I'm hoping this is something that two neighbors can come to terms on.

Go back to Lowe’s.
Buy a shovel.
Dig a big hole.
Decide which dogs you want bury.

Re: chain link fence on their side... you might as well ask them to build a ramp over the fence.

I’m no sure what I would do, but I would be very fearful those dogs would break through while the daschunds were in the yard. Those pups would be dead in nothing flat. I would call animal control and police. Neighbor needs to put a shock line on her side to keep the dogs from getting close to the fence. In the meantime, the daschunds would never go out along and would not go near the fence!!!

Shooting pit bulls with a bb gun is going to end poorly for you.

Better use something that will kill the dogs.

I pray those dogs don’t hurt you, your girlfriend or her pups.

Do you honestly believe you’re dealing with rational neighbors and productive members of society who own a breed of dog that wants to chew your face off?

I just had the same issue with my neighbor. The only difference is, his dog made it over my fence and attacked my dog.

He was told if his dog comes onto my property again, I will kill it. His dog weighs about 150lbs, mine is 50lbs.
