Obviously she should have kept her dog in her yard but only a sick frick shots a dog like that. 99% of dogs will run away if you just wave your hand at them. If it was habitual, the neighbor should have talked to her but to resort to drastic and irrevocable action so quickly is terrible.

Yet another reason I hate people in general.

I hate when people let big dogs run free around neighborhoods. If you want to let your dog run everywhere - get a small dog.

4yr olds should be able to play in THEIR OWN yards without a large dog running up to them. It scares the child.

This home owner should have had better judgement, but girlfriend needs to admit at least some fault.

I'm not saying I'd have shot the dog, but if he's in my yard and poses a threat to my kids, I have no opposition to it

The guy started off lying by saying he didn't own any guns other than BB guns. So I assume the dog posing a threat to his kid is a lie as well.

Killing someone's family pet is trashy, not displaying righteous indignation in the form of physical violence.

Not if I felt that dog threatened my family. You weren't there, I wasn't there. If I felt threatened, I'm shooting the dog. If you want to come fight me and "beat me to within an inch of my life" I'm shooting your face off.

I wouldn't let the dog suffer though that part is wrong.

I was going with the other responses.

I don't know that you won't try to do that though. Why risk it? Blast away, son!

The most I would have done is shoot the ground under the dog to scare it away. This guy is pretty fricked up for what he did

Agree.

It was quicker for the guy to get his gun than turn on a water hose?

He's a lying SOS.
