Neighbors with barking dogs suck. I like dogs, but really, it's no different than me firing my dirt bike up or cutting the grass in the middle of the night. Now it sounds like you're more considerate than most dog owners but still... a dog going apeshit on a nice Saturday afternoon while I'mf outside playing with the kids is bullshite.

I work two and a half hours away from home so I stay in a hotel for my 11 day shift. I work nights so I sleep during the day. The guy in the room next to mine has two full grown pit bulls in his room. They bark constantly. I despise people with barking dogs.

As a dog owner, I can't stand a dam barking dog. My two only bark if someone or some animal comes in my yard or my neighbors yard. Oh, my neighbors love my dogs due to the fact my dogs watch over their house too! Yes, we had talked about my dogs about them going in my neighbors yard. They told me to let them do their thing. We live in the sticks and we have problems with pigs ripping up our yards. My dogs when outside keep the pigs and other animals away.

+1.

Nothing beats a fricking dog barking in mid backswing.

I think you gotta put em inside at 5 pm. Barking dogs are the worst.

Shocking anti-bark collar is the consensus if you insist on leaving them outside unsupervised for more than 15 minutes. You can take it off when they go inside and after a few weeks you will not need to use collar at all. Both danes and rat terriers are very territorial and prone to bark at anything on the other side of their fence. It becomes a fun game intimidating people on the other side and eventually they feel like that is their main job, especially if they have a lack of exercise.

Or just keep them inside except for when they need to do their business. Both of these breeds are happy being 99% inside dogs. My dane spends a total of 5 minutes outside per day and is happy with her couch otherwise. Great companion and best security system you could ask for.

Barking dogs suck.. If mine bark once, I am shutting them up. Damn, I hate annoying barking dogs, almost as much as the owners of them who don't seem to notice.
