go to internet. read CNVC.com

that's about negotiations.

SO does not move across great distances. WIVES move. SO shed tears. wave bye.

and where the heck in Ky?
Its nearly 600 miles from Pikeville to the Mississippi.

western KY has decent weather. You can go a 100 miles east and 50 miles north and find serious winters.

Tell her you're moving. If she wants to join you, cool. If not, no big deal either. The attitude of indifference gets them every time. Definitely don't ask for permission to better yourself.

A pretty woman makes a man look small, and very often causes his downfall. As soon as he marries her then she will start, to do the things that break his heart. But if you make an ugly woman your wife, you'll be happy for the rest of your life. An ugly cooks her meals on time, she'll always give you peace of mind. If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife. So from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you.

Don't let her hold you back. Find someone who is ambitious and supports you. Better to be single than divorced. You work hard, then you're going to have great opportunities. Get what you want out of life.

I recently had to do this with my SO.
The conversation went like this...

Me: Hey, I got a job in Houston.

SO: wow I don't know if I want to pick up and move.

Me: If you come with me, you only have to work part time. If you don't come with me we are breaking up.

SO: When do we leave?

You expect her to pack up and move and you aren't married/engaged? Good luck with that. And who the hell would want to live in Kentucky or Florida?

I was in the same situation in early 2014.

I was going to make 4x more money in Iowa rather the crap job I had in port Allen.

She left me, worked for 27 months. literally the best thing that's ever happened to me.

tread lightly here, man...if you move a woman to an area that she doesn't like, she can make your life pretty damn miserable...

She isn't the one, move on. She should be willing to move to Siberia if she was the one.

Sounds like the move is best for YOU but not for her

And if they're married, he has to consider her life dreams as well.

To the OP:

Outside of your career bump, you have to be able to sell the move to her. She probably only barely cares about you being happy in your job. Work to live not live to work kinda thing.

You mentioned South Florida. Does she like the beach? Being close to Disney World and Busch Gardens? Driving distance to Miami? Vacation area that your extended families will want to come to?

Sell her on it for her sake and not your own.

Bring her to both locations for a weekend. Show her the world outside of LA and hopefully she'll realize the benefits.

Friends can be made anywhere, family is the thing that may hold her back. Show her flights and make legitimate commitments to visit for holidays

THIS! Sounds like she's pulling out the trump card. Looks like you buy the ring or move without her.

Would've saved me a lot of heartache if that were true. Told the ex she could move if she found a job because we weren't there as a couple so I moved without her. Bitch came to visit and found a job the first day.

Can she not work if you move? It would be a bit selfish to expect her to move, find a new job, etc. If you really want to move, you have to make the benefits for her outweigh the cons.
