Looking for something quality and low profile.
Done with the "I told you" and "I never said that" bullshite. I will either be seeing a counseler or audiologist once this Covid stuff clears out.

my advice would be to save up as many "I never said that"s as you can and make a giant audio/video production of it. Play it in front of her family and friends. Really just drive it home and make her regret ever pulling this shite

we'll laugh at the OP, but man there have been so many times I wish I had this.
The satisfaction of replying with a screenshot of an old text message after getting a "I never said that" or "you never told me that" is pretty amazing.
But most of the time for me it's for non-important stuff, so I wouldn't go as far as actually having an audio recorder.

To answer your question. If you have an iPhone there are a lot of good, free apps out there. Sound quality is good and the neat thong is, people are so used to checking their phones nowadays, that you can turn it on without anybody realizing it.

You'd be surprised at how many people are recording everything.
It isn't widespread, but it isn't rare either.
