In an effort to get healthier and lose some weight this year, I have attempted to change my eating habits.

I am currently around 210# and would like to lose about 15#'s.

I really do not have time to exercise due to work and kids evening commitments.

About 3 weeks ago I tried cutting out as much sugar as I could out of my diet. I now only get about 2 spoons of pure sugar with my coffee in the morning and that is it. I used to be a soft drink a day and chocolate at night person.

My typical day is this:
Breakfast: egg, ham and cheese on english muffin breakfast sandwich, cup of coffee
Snack: Apple
Lunch: rotisserie chicken, 1/2 can of beans, handful of peanuts
Snack: apple
Dinner: a meat/fish/chicken, 1/2 can of beans and milk
snack: banana

I try to drink about 80oz of water a day as well

I have not lost one pound in three weeks from this change???? Starting to get frustrated. I thought I would at least lose a few pounds just from changing my eating habits.

Cut out the English muffin and beans. Replace with fruit or veggies.

Losing weight is a math equation. Calories in have to be less than calories out. Either find a way to be more active, or make additional changes to your diet.

Get on my fitness pal and start tracking calories. That way you know exactly how much sugar you are consuming.

Also, start eating more veggies.

That is close to a typical day for me, but I would eat almonds instead of peanuts and drink almond milk instead of regular milk

Start spending 10-15 mins, doing Bodyweight exercises that are high intensity.

Everyone has 10-20 mins down time. Just have to make it a priority!!

This is what you do :

Take a food journal

Eat less 1,500 calories a day

Eat less 1000 mg of sodium a day

Eat less than 25g of fat a day

Yes you do. Wake up earlier. Work out at lunch. Work out after the kids are in bed.

There is always a way. It's up to you make that happen.

Cut out the processed foods as much as possible. If this is one of those Jimmy Dean type sandwiches go to making your own breakfast.

1/2 can of beans
I don't see a problem with eating beans, but the canned type have tons of sodium and other added crap.

Whoa on all of the sugar and carbs from other stuff. Turn breakfast into an omelet. Skip the apple and bananas in favor of a cheese and some nuts.

There are so many neat things to try. Take some pepper jack cheese and grate it. Put it in the oven at 350 until it crisps up. Another option is to make pepperoni chips by microwaving pepperoni. Those are all good snacks I enjoy.

You still have to burn more than you're taking in. If you have a sedentary job, cutting a few calories prob isn't enough. Although I do think dietary changes are the most important, you still need to find enough time a few days a week to do some kind of exercise.

in moderation.

generally, your body moderates the sugar gained from bruit bu the energy it takes to break down the fiber.

you should be eating more veggies than fruit, but an apple is better than a brownie.

try switching to black coffee or cream without the sugar.

There is always time to exercise. Wake up an hour earlier before your kids and do it then. The "I don't have time for exercise" excuse is the biggest thing standing in your way. The weight will fall off of you and you will feel much better. Good luck!

my diet consists of:

avocado, yogurt, and eggs in the morning
steak or chicken, salad and broccoli for lunch
tuna steak or some fish with greens for dinner

nuts and protein shake for a snack sometime in the day, but i dont really feel the need to snack.

i do that monday-friday and do whatever i want on the weekends. i went from 220lbs to 205 in a little over a month and got lean.

Don't listen to people telling you to skip the fruit servings, that is terrible advice.
