Buy an old Harley.. Believe me.. You'll be in the garage EVERY night... It will definitely give you something to work on.. over and over and over and over and over and over...

Build a cigar box guitar.

Many moons ago, it got me started on my way to the far above-average shop skills that I have today and even alot of what makes me my living.

It has everything from woodworking to electronics, but you only need the basic tools to do it. Plus you have a cigar box guitar to play.

Or if you're trolling then you can just go make me a sandwich like all of my whore wimmenz do.

ETA: I'm still waiting on the sandwich. (And the whore wimmenz.)

That actually sounds like a lot of fun but, man, I can't play the guitar worth a lick. I bought an acoustic convinced I would learn how to play. It's been 2-3 years since that purchase and I haven't gotten past basic chords. My fingers aren't limber enough and I'm too lazy to put in the work to get them where they need to be.

Acquire portable heater for garage, acquire beer, turn heater on, consume beer inside garage. You’re welcome, dumbass.

Make some shaker style cabinets instead of shelves. Cheap and easy. Use 1x2's or 1x3s for the door frames and Masonite for the actual door panels.

All you need is some glue, screws, carpenter's square, 2' level, and a circ saw. If you want to get fancy buy a pockethole jig.

Did this last winter, made a whole bank of upper cabinets when the SO was outta of town. She was impressed with the way I handled my wood.

Something very rewarding and easy is to make some bird feeders and birdhouses. With Spring around the corner you’ll find yourself very interested in what you can attract to your backyard.

Ok, build some of the old style farmhouse furniture. Start with a dinner table maybe. I decided to build a bed for one of the bedrooms using No.1 pine. Then I built the night stand, then a desk, then a set of shelves. I will begin a dresser next and reuse a mirror from an old donor dresser. Go to Pinterest for ideas and plans.

I’ll edit this post and include some photos once I find them.

I didn't know how to play either other than basic chords and an innate ability (albeit minimally-innate) at hearing and playing the slide guitar. It's not like it's a gotdayumed Big Baby Taylor that requires virtuosity to build: they consist of 1 to 6 strings and play basic, bare-bones nasty slide blues. You can get very VERY complex with them, but you can also just start off building a single string with a broomstick neck and an 88 cent Radio Shack-bought pezo pickup.

But you can also just be a quitter and/or be trolling me. Either way, keep looking for projects baw. (If you're really looking.)

On a more serious note if you are interested in WWing start with some simple furniture Shaker or Danish-inspired can be deconstructed and built fairly simply. I would suggest NOT starting with a large table since you need to understand how wood moves and it is much better to have a jointer and planer to be able to dimension your own wood.

There are a ton of youtube videos that have simple furniture builds. Hardwood ply is a great way to start since you want have panel glue-ups to worry about that would allow you to "cheat" and build a larger table if you like. Try to learn to build with no mechanical fasteners like screws and avoid the temptation of using a pocket hole jig like a Kreg. If you plan to make it a hobby there is never a reason to use pocket holes unless you are building kitchen cabinets or garage furniture.
