We'll you clearly don't value your time either, because this process will take at least 3x as long than pulling up to 5 minute oil and telling them what you want there.
Your plan is to go to the store, find the oil, wait in line to pay, go drive to the lube station, explain your flawed reasoning and then get sent to the back of the line. Sounds like 10 minutes vs 60-80 minutes.

I've always brought my own oil and filter… most places charge anywhere between 15 and $17.

Be sure and take you one of those self threading plastic plugs that goes in the oil pan. I had two different quickie outfits that messed mine up. 
That's when I started using the dealership for my changes. About $32. It's more time consuming to wait at a dealer but I sure as hell don't worry about half of my oil being dripped on the highway before getting back home.

So basically, you are going to pay double for an oil change? I certainly understand taking a more quality filter, but the oil thing? IMO it's a little bit of a douche move, especially if the would provide the same oil.

I think the ruling (that you requested) on the OT field is that most of the people who reviewed this thread don't think this is a good idea or something that they would do.

I don't get why people go to jiffy lube, firestone, Walmart, etc. Just find a good local independent mechanic and use him for every thing, including oil changes. It will save money in the long run because the job is done correctly.

I do this all the time. But European formula Mobile One and filters on Amazon. Then go to express oil and use the coupons they give me on the mobile app. The lowest I've paid for a full synthetic oil change on a Tundra is $7 and I average about $15.
If it wasn't for the skid plate I would change it myself.
I use the same place for other services too. A couple of the guys there have even started getting oil from the same sources.

Im not reading 4 pages of people calling the OP a fig.
Heres what I do though. I became friends with the service manager at a local Ford dealership. My truck does not have the factory emissions and therefore requires different oil than OEM. I buy the oil and filter, Ford picks my truck up, charges me the lowest serviceable item they can ($22), uses my oil and filters, and brings it back to me in the afternoon.
Might be worth a shot.

how much does your stuff cost?
cant be any less than $15. Realistically $20. So taking the extra time to go get the oil and filter is worth saving $5 at most every 4 months or so?
