Anyone want to opine as to the value of this particular timepiece? A buddy came by with it and it is completely out of my wheelhouse. Trying to help a brother out.
I know Broke can spit the figure with ease.

That is a 2006 or 2007 36mm DJ with the cool roulette date wheel.
Being a 36mm and two-tone they don't hold value like many of the SS professional models. $7500 without a recent service history, $8000 with a reputable or Rolex Service Center service in the last 2 years, add maybe $500 to those since it has what appears to be box and full papers.
ETA just looking that one may be missing links unless they are in the box. I am 99% sure that particular Oyster bracelet should have 12 links PLUS a half link. That is not counting the end links which attach to the case. Make sure it has enough links to fit him (TT Rolex links are expensive). If it is too short for him I would expect $500 off for each missing link and $250 off for each missing link if there are enough to fit him and they will just sit in the box. That assumes it is not from a dealer, if it is a dealer I would get them to source any links to make it fit without an increase in price and get the discount for any links it should have but he doesn't need...now.

Thank you. I meant to put you in the title line with Broke and failed to do so. Many thanks.

that watch is easily one of my least favorite Rolex looks, I hate the two tone
guy I work with bought a rootbeer GMT II and it is hideous to me, to each his own

The rootbeer is fugly, Pepsi and Batman are where it's at for the GMT.

Tree fiddy and one dollar, Bob.

New Submariner press embargo ends tomorrow, not sure what time. Since there was so much discussion about it during the last watch thread I plan to make a post just hoping the "I got a phone" baws don't RA enough to get me banned... (prayer hands emoji).
jbgleason note I edited my post to include info on links.

The bracelet looks really scuffed up on my phone. How much does the bracelet droop? You could probably get that for 6k on timezone, no?

I would value that with box and papers at around $6000 to 6500. Extra links will matter but it loses points for being a two tone. It's just not as popular today

That watch actually looks better on a woman to be honest

It has extra links (they are in that plastic baggie seen sticking out in the photo) and the bracelet is almost new with no sag. I know just enough to check that.
It isn't scuffed either. The pic is just low res.
I figured the two tone would be an issue. But the red date (roulette wheel I guess) does look cool.
