They removed the staff directory for this school, but....

I think we should all email her a Christmas themed picture.

Candy Cane - that’s Christmas-related. Historically, the shape is a ‘J’ for Jesus. The red is for the blood of Christ, and the white is a symbol of his resurrection.

Is this true? I've never hear that about a candy cane. I thought it was a shepherd's staff

Even saying "numerous areas" is under-selling it.

Liberals, it seems, are always just trying to outdo what has happened before them so they get the attention they crave.

What a moron this lady is.

You and I have a lot that we could agree on. But calling her a lady is not the right word.

There’s a thing going around Facebook about parents bitching at other parents to stop telling their kids Santa brought them iPads for Christmas because they’re expensive, yada yada.

#1 iPads are probably the #1 thing on sale Black Friday.
#2 if you don’t prepare for the holiday season regardless of how much money you make you have no one to blame but yourself. Even when things were lean for my wife and I we still put money away during the year to have a little saved up for Christmas time. Hell I signed up for Acorns this year and put away over $1200 saving what amounts to pocket change.

I’m not shitting on anyone or intentionally being insensitive. And I know shite happens and it puts a real burden on families. But if you don’t take steps to prepare yourself, shame on you. And I’m willing to bet 99% of these people woke up Friday morning after Thanksgiving and went “Oh now what do I do?”

Our school district does not allows celebration of holidays with the exception of Valentines Day. It ends up not being a big deal, there are plenty of holiday events and stuff to do outside of school. And teachers are creative enough to create theme assignments to gain the attention of kids without involving holidays.

In reality the kids, not knowing any different, truly don't miss holiday themed assignments and parties. It is the parents who are aghast at the exclusion and complain about it. As a parent, it is something that I don't care enough to worry about.

So it appears Ramadan, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are ok, just nothing Christmas. She should be shipped to Iran where she will never have to see Christmas stuff again.

Please have a teacher put up Weihnachten decorations.

Did they ban all the other religious holidays around this time, or just Christmas?
Kinda weird considering exactly none of the things listed are specifically affiliated with Jesus. They all have Pagan origins, just like 95% of our Christmas traditions.

Yeah, where she jumped the shark was failing to understand the nuance between the "religious Christmas" and the "secular Christmas"

It's like, yeah, technically Santa Claus is based on St. Nicholas. But it's not like a lot people actually associate Santa Claus with Jesus' birth or even Christianity. He's just the fat guy in the red suit who brings kids presents.

This principal decided that ANYTHING associated with Christmas was inappropriate.

But what's even more confusing is that - reading the memo - it doesn't even seem like she banned Christmas on the grounds of religion. She just thinks it excludes people who don't celebrate Christmas.

It's like WTF? I don't cheer for the Florida Gators, but I wouldn't raise a bitch-fit if I lived in Florida and my kid's teacher had UF shite all over her classroom.

Was trying to be as "PC" as possible but apparently Christmas is the "PC" version of the holidays.
