Yeah, I'm worried that charge won't stick. I'm not a lawyer, but isn't malicious intent a required component of a murder charge? It seems like a good defense attorney would argue that her death was an accident.
I think murder 2 in commission of a felony usually sticks. Could be wrong on that, though.

Ah. Got me on a technicality.
These baws should have waited a couple years before running her over

They needed a ride to their final exams and did what they had to do. Scum for not just giving them a ride

Only real solution is to move away from these types
Politicians like LaToya or Broomes have no interest in policing when their most loyal voting blocks are related to the criminals

There is only one type of justice that would be true justice in this type of situation. Street justice.

There was malicious intent, ie, carjacking. That's all that's required for a felony murder case.

If people like her hadn’t been living high on the hog with their privilege, these boys wouldn’t have needed to commit crime. (Actual leftist thoughts)

Hopefully charged as adults
No link, so I don't know their ages...but since their mugshots are released then I would think they're being charged as adults since they don't typically release names/mugshots for someone charged as a juvenile.

You're right. I also didn't consider "teen" includes 18-19 years old as well

Jontrell Robinson, left, and Edwin Cottrell were charged in the carjacking death of a pastor's wife
I'd love to see what their prior arrest were for and who and why were they on the streets

Exactly. Like that hack Jarvis DeBerry at the Times Picayune. That asshat is still writing articles about the monuments (last time I checked they were down) but he won’t touch this kind of crap.

They're gonna plead down to drunk in public. DA gets a conviction. Everybody wins, except the family of the dead lady (who didn't look bad either)

Too many NON-VIOLENT offenders incarcerated everywhere

quote:In Louisiana in general, there are too many people incarcerated, that's just a fact. However, that doesn't mean they don't deserve to be there. People who want to free people because we have too many people locked up are just idiots.
and yet many in NO think we have too many incarcerated.
I wouldn't mind letting out some people charged with petty drug offenses, but all the violent offenders and stuff like that deserve to be there. And Louisiana has a lot like that.

Good thing you aren't a lawyer, they were in commission of a violent felony, it will stick
In that case, good riddance to these POSes.
