Peyote is a hell of a drug.

Well, or so I hear. I’ve never partaken in peyote.

They dropped the spiritual aspect long ago. They do love their weed as well. They're allowed to do a lot of things based on tradition, but everyone should have that right.

Of course they did

The whole Morman religion was founded by a teenage kid tripping balls and thinking he saw visions

Plenty of artifacts suggest native cultures used them.

One of the best days of my life was spent eating 5 grams of shrooms over a 10 hour period and tripping balls on the beach at the edge of a small forest. What an incredible drug.

Did a Mayan cave tour and was told this as well.

There is a place in South America (I believe Peru) where it is legal for the local shaman to grow a species of really potent shrooms that the locals use in religious ceremonies.

That weird Hamilton dude on that TV show went up there and got some.

ETA: It's not shrooms, it's the San Pedro cactus. I guess it's similar to peyote.

I think many would be surprised as to other groups of people, who took shrooms and tripped on other more powerful drugs as well…

Some tribes would eat the wings of cicadas that were covered with psilocybin dust.
