What is the fascination about having Native American ancestory?About every other person I talk to wants to make that claim.
Now some of my relatives jumping on that bandwagon, cousin of mine telling everyone our great-grandmother was full blooded Cherokee.I know for a fact that’s not true.
Now the DIL(not the sharpest knife in the drawer) telling grandchildren that nonsense.Judging from the size of her ginormous butt,I would be more inclined to believe African American ancestory.

I was told that growing up, but I took a DNA test.

83% British Isles
10% Western Europe (France and Germany)
6% Scandinavian
1% Middle Eastern (that I have no fricking clue about)

Grandma was full of shite.

You should have seen people coming out of the woodwork when my tribe first opened our casino years and years ago.

When real money gets involved, it gets funny to watch.

I hope all of my genes come from Western Europe. Just the trashy ones though like the Irish and Scottish. Those are the coolest.

A lot of families with deep roots in the South probably have a drop or two of Cherokee blood, or one of the other civilized tribes.

But they also have a lot less than they usually believe. John Ross was probably the best known Cherokee leader. He died 150 years ago, and he was only 1/8 Cherokee.

I've traced both sides of my ancestry pretty extensively and far back. I know for 100% fact that I'm related fairly directly to Chief Joseph McLemore, who was at least half Cherokee and was on Trail of Tears, and there are still many McLemore Indians in Oklahoma. 23 and Me, however, left only a very small - - like 2%--of my blood "unknown." I guess all that other Choctaw and Cherokee talk about my people, is BS.

I been to a reservation in North Carolina to visit my grandmother who was Native American.

She did not seem any different than any other cool old lady that had mustang horses and worked at a restaurant and visitors center part time.

I never saw her or anyone there wearing head bands or shooting arrows from bows to kill Buffalo. Just normal everyday people doing ordinary stuff.

Anyone saying anything without DNA is sterile conjecture. People adopt and spouses cheat. The main reason people won’t take a test is they can’t handle the truth. No matter what you learn, your still an American. You aren’t better than anyone, and no one is better than you. That’s what ideal worth fighting for.

I feel like I'm better than John Gacy..but, Mother Teresa was probably better than myself.
