The nation’s average price of gasoline has fallen 0.4 cents over the last week and stands at $4.29 per gallon, according to GasBuddy® data compiled from more than 12 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is up 0.4 cents from a month ago and is $1.28 per gallon higher than a year ago. The national average price of diesel fell 5.9 cents in the last week and stands at $6.248 per gallon.
“More states saw average gasoline prices decline than rise over the last week, with diesel falling approximately 5 cents per gallon nationally,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

"Meanwhile, Hurricane Isaias has passed, but we are awaiting updates on two refineries that were in its path, the outcome of which could impact the supply picture in the days ahead. For now, the trend is cautiously in the right direction for motorists, but between hurricane season and continued geopolitical uncertainty, it is far too early to declare the pressure on fuel prices resolved.”

The physical cost of moving oil out of the Persian Gulf has exploded, with per-barrel transport costs rising from roughly $2 before the war to around $33 today. In early Monday trade, WTI was up $1.77 to $93.62 per barrel, above last Monday’s $90.20, while Brent gained $1.89 to $106.62 compared to $102.47 a week ago, with the November midterm elections looming as the market’s next major catalyst.

And now...like all good things, my time of posting on Tigerdroppings has come to an end after 19 years.
Post #30,350 is the perfect stopping point.
I will definitely still lurk and read the board for news, any decent political points, food recommendations and such; however, I have embarked all the wisdom and stupidity I can here.
The Food & Drink Board is where I discovered great beers to try, and where I found a recipe to cook shrimp & grits for the very first time. The discussions of politics, industry, sports, foods & beers and crawfish prices over the years has been fun and quite enlightening. This is one of those places where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.
Maybe I'll temporarily post again if the Cajuns ever return to the College World Series, or by some miracle find their way into the College Football Playoff (won't have to worry about that one). We shall see.
So...adios. It's been real. It's been fun. But it ain't been real fun!
God Bless each and every one of you, and I hope the upcoming crawfish season is plentiful for everyone.

After failing in quite a few businesses over the years, I think he's finally found his calling.
There was a surge in .si domain registrations in June and July. Folks suddenly buying those domains for a few thousand dollars a piece and now reselling them for hundreds of thousands each after Trump decreed in September that we would all have to start calling artificial intelligence Super Intelligence or "SI"
What a coincidence.
Not to mention the $2,000,000,000 his family made last year in crypto and meme coin pump and dump schemes and influence peddling with the Muslims.
Trump is doing really, really well as President.

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner see an angle for the family to get a piece of the huge Russian oil and gas trade.
They've already cut them off, they just need to keep putting pressure on Ukraine to surrender themselves to a life of slavery and to stop bombing Russian refineries in the interim.
Got to be worth a lot to Putin, might be bigger than crypto.
Ukraine needs to quit being so selfish and help us get gas prices back down.

Does the calculation including throwing out price results from the typical overly priced gas stations on the on ramp side of an interstate leading into town? Texas being reported at an average of 3.78 seems high, the majority I drive by are 3.59 or so, but you have the inevitable gas stations next to I-10 that are priced at 3.82, 1/2 a mile away from a gas station that's 3.60 or lower.

It is reported via users of the gasbuddy app.
Very unscientific and often goes against the EIA method of gas stations self reporting.
