Would really prefer we let the local police, national guard, and whomever else at the local or state level as needed to get this under control and not send in US military.

On one hand, agreed.
On the other, they might not be able to due to leadership and scope. And there is a lot of sentiment (I believe) that enough is enough and that America has to put a stop to this stuff when you have the chance.
And I agree with that, within reason. We have open criminality under the banner of a foreign flag, some of it being done by foreigners in our cities. Historically, what other nation would tolerate that?

I think that's the key part.
I think the current administration is actually gaining points the more of this that gets out, and at some point you would think reasonable minds in CA who are not hoodlums, illegals, and anarchists would get fed up with it. And sending in the US military could turn the mindset.
I'm also not sure we have an understanding of just how big in scope these protests and the violence is because the media will not report truthfully on it.
