good friend of mine (Black) was married to a woman we all tried to talk him out of marrying (White) because she was notorious for being shady. She traveled for work and had a full on affair with a guy in Michigan (White).
Temporarily moved in with his Mom. And sure enough the baby was white and clearly not his via paternity test.

You understand wrongly. The cheating spouse can be excluded from alimony or spousal support in Louisiana for an adultery "fault based" divorce.
What it doesn't impact are community property splits and child support/custody.

A guy I know had a wife that was drug seeking, thief, narcissist. She wasn't like that originally, but she got progressively worse as the marriage went on. She got physically abusive with him, and he basically refused to defend himself because laws aren't favorable to men and proving he acted in self defense would be an uphill battle. So he started hiding cameras around the house. She found the cameras and held him at gun point until he deleted all of the videos. Eventually he caught got her on video putting a loaded gun to his head. He turned the video over to the detectives. The video was about an hour long, and captured what led up to it, which was nothing physical at all. She had said that 30 minutes prior he had abused her, of which that time was caught on the camera and proved there was nothing but her being the aggressor. The TRO was granted and they got a divorce. He had two vehicles in his name. He was working on his primary vehicle in his garage, so he took the second vehicle to work one day. She called and had the vehicle towed from his office so when he was ready to leave, he didn't find his vehicle.
She had a son that was also a stolen valor piece of shite who stole from them and borderline vandalized the house even when things were good between them.
She was always a little bitchy but she definitely went off the deep end. She had some bolt ons and also had "back problems" that led to her seeking pain pills and spiraled from ther IMO.

Sorta related, but has to be the world's biggest dumbass. Acquaintance of mine married and had 5 kids. Things had started getting rocky before #5 and she filed for divorce. Get in front of judge, dude says he has concerns #5 may not be his. Judge orders dna test for all 5 kids. Turns out 3,4, & 5 are not his. They divorce, he has just a few years left of child support on his 2. Year or so goes by, old girl comes back around, hinting at reconciliation. Next thing you know they bumpin uglies again. Not long after he asks her to re-marry. She agrees. About a week after that she tells him, if you REALLY love me, you'll adopt numbers 3,4, & 5. Ink barely dry on the adoption papers and she served him with divorce papers again.

It's not but it's very real. One of my friends after seeing this happen to others recognized what was going on. He knew better than to say anything about it to his wife...too irrational. He personally knew her gyno and let him know what was happening.
The gynecologist ordered tests and it came back with her hormones all out of wack. Got her on meds and she quickly went back to her normal self.
As another poster mentioned, pregnancy can do the same thing. My wife was fine after our first kid but turned into the most irrational worry wart helicopter mom you've ever met. It took a long time for her to get over it naturally. I could see it ending a marriage if the husband didn't know what was going on and realize it would eventually pass.

Friend in high school works at his Dad's Shell station in Dallas. Guy comes to the station to gas up. My friend is gassing up the car. Guy was driving a nice AMX (sports version of the American Motors Javelin). The man starts bitching about his soon to be ex-wife and how he is getting cleaned out. He says "shite, she drives this car all the time I ought to sell it for $100."
He and my buddy start talking and my buddy buys the car for $100.\
Looking back, I think the car was a Javelin concerted to an AMX as it did not have the high powered motor. It was still well worth $100.

My ex turned mine into an absolute horror show. We had a 20 acre horse farm, she was a trainer / taught lessons. I worked in Pharma (paid the mortgage). 2 kids, 5 and 3.
Her much older 2nd cousin gets kicked out of his dad’s place. He smokes, drinks, has meth mouth, no job. However, like all addicts, they know everything, we’re always screwed over, and have a nice sob story.
My ex invites him to live in a trailer on our property in exchange for farm chores, I agree- I’m working 50 hour weeks, 2 small kids, farm, we’re busy and the help is appreciated.
Dude starts doing the chores I normally do when I get home from work, so, I just hang with the kids watching TV in the evenings. My wife starts being very snarky with me - saying I’m lazy, do squat around the house, her 2nd cousin notices how lazy I am.
After 2 or 3 weeks of this, I have a scheduled vasectomy. We had discussed for a couple of years and we agreed. She’s supposed to pick me up from the surgery center. She forgets! I somehow make it home. She says I’m being dramatic. This was a Friday. Three days later, she asks for a divorce out of the blue. She says she’s changed and she can’t achieve her goals as a horse trainer while being married to me. WTF? I guess she forgot what finances her horse business.
I’m a wreck for a couple of weeks, I finally tell my sister what’s going on. My sister hits me over the head and says my ex is banging her 2nd cousin. I stay the night at my sister’s place, I go home the next morning to get my work stuff, I find my ex naked in bed with her 2nd cousin. I tell the 2nd cousin to GTFO my property, and I go to work.
That afternoon, I’m served at work with an ex parte PFA. So, I’m out of the house. In the meantime, my ex moves the 2nd cousin out of the trailer and into the main house.
We have court for the permanent hearing in a week, she files a continuance to get a lawyer, hearing delayed for a month. So, I’m basically forced to get an apartment.
We show up for the hearing, my lawyer tells her lawyer that we have evidence she moved the guy into the house the day she filed the original PFA. Her lawyer has nothing other than me telling the affair partner to GTFO. My ex is convinced to drop the PFA which she does.
After it’s dropped, my lawyer hands a separation agreement where I continue to contribute financially like I always did for 12 to 24 months while she restarts her pharma sales career and figures out a way to buy me out of the house and pay for it.
Only catch is I live in the trailer, and the affair partner has to vacate the property and not step foot on it. It was a business decision on my part to keep costs as low as possible. Her lawyer seems on board with this.
She counters that I continue to pay all expenses, her affair partner still lives on the property, I live in the apartment. I say nope. Her lawyer fires her. My lawyer says “she put it in writing that she’s now cohabitating, you have zero obligation to her now”
- I go FAFO mode and go scorched earth.
- stop paying any expenses for her (no house payment, no truck payment, no tractor payment)
- I pay her child support in the amount set by my state’s calculator
- she’s forced to put the property on the market before it forecloses.
This kicked off a ten your horror show culminating in her losing all legal custody of the kids as well as supervised visitation after the affair partner was convicted of beating our son yet she still kept the dude around.

Similar to this, I know a dude (lawyer) who started having an affair with a clerk at the courthouse and eventually marries her as her husband found out pretty quickly.. The divorced husband then starts dating and marries the younger sister of the lawyer with whom his wife had the affair. I am sure the holidays are awesome.

I have a friend who thought his marriage was solid. His wife goes on a girls cruise to the Bahamas and winds up pregnant. He immediately knows it’s not his when the baby is born. He forgave his wife and raised the child as his own. 15 years later his wife goes to a high school reunion and hooks up with an old flame. My friend had enough and divorced her. He likes to joke that he never predicted having a half-Asian kid or losing his wife to another woman would be in his future.
