If the cop let's him go and the suspect kills someone else you know the city would be sued after they found out the cop let him go.
That is why I don't agree with it as in I don't agree he should be convicted.

Care to elaborate on your position? As opposed to the prior poster who is apparently running for Senate and went straight to wanting to touch your balls.

Like running with scissors, only worse.

Because it is in a grey area. Helps the public feel like accountability exists.

He will be charged then found not guilty. The supreme Court already made it clear on these type of cases. The cop is justified in the shooting. The media is out of control and needs to be accountable for the way they publish and share news.

What did the media do?
Should they not report that he was charged?
Should they not report that he was charged?

I remember this case. frick that cop. He thought a car was stolen, ran the plates, then realized it wasn't stolen, but he kept following it hoping to pull it over for another reason. He lost track of the car, then found another car that he thought was it. Drove up to the car to check it out and Hambrick started running away. Cop got out, asked him to stop the gun while he was running away, then shot him dead.
Hambrick wasn't suspected of anything. Saying he was a threat to the public because he had a gun would be like pulling up and shooting an open carry guy who ran off.

According to the warrant, Delke "became suspicious" when a white Chevrolet Impala stopped at a stop sign and "conceded the right of way by not pulling out in front of him."
Delke ran the car's license plate, the warrant says, and found the Impala was not a stolen vehicle. But the officer followed the vehicle anyway "to see if he could develop a reason to stop the Impala."
Eventually, Delke lost track of the car, the warrant states. While searching, he "mistook a different white four door sedan" in the parking lot of an apartment building for the Impala.
quote:
As the officer pulled up, Hambrick began to run, and Delke chased him on foot, even though Delke had no reason to believe Hambrick was connected to any stolen vehicles, the warrant says.
In pursuit, Delke saw a gun in Hambrick's hand, according to the warrant. The officer gave Hambrick several verbal commands, including, "Drop the gun or I'll shoot," it states.
Delke decided to fire when Hambrick kept running and didn't drop the gun, the warrant states.
The OP leaves out plenty of vital information, but that's expected considering his stance.

Yeah that cop is screwed. You can't do that.
Posted on 9/28/18 at 5:31 pm to jbgleason
I think it should be cut and dry, a cop shouldn’t have any rights to use lethal force that an armed citizen doesn’t. Replace the cop with CCL holder and what happens?

There are reasonable times when it can be allowed, but this situation isn't one of them.
There was no reason to believe Hambrick was an imminent threat to the public, plain and simple.

And if the guy turned around and fired at the officer and killed him or someone else? Stupid as hell

What was he suspected of doing? There was no probable cause to even approach him.

Yep. Justified. A danger to the officer and any innocent bystanders.

So all you have to do if you have a gun in a confrontation with the police is run faster than them?
awesome!
awesome!

This is not relevant at all. Once he brandished firearm on a cop and refused to drop it, that’s a new crime.
