It’s not as bad as you’re expecting. The relief is totally worth it.

Follow doc orders and flush out your nasal cavity twice daily and enjoy the pain killers.

They cut this tumor thing out of my sinus cavity, and it was only a week recovery really. Wasn't really 100% until 2 weeks after. I tell you what though, when they pull out the packing on follow up, it is probably one of the most amazing feelings I’ve ever experienced

If they’re going in through nostril, I think it’s a similar surgery but probably not as intense as mine. Just make sure to use the nasal flush/bottle they give you, because that thing is a lifesaver. And enjoy being laid up on pain pills for a few days

It’s better than chronic sinus infection headache.

Not bad at all. I heard it would be terrible. Dissolvable packing makes a huge difference. They do come back though. I had mine removed in 2017 and I’m probably due for another procedure. I’m looking forward to having it done again actually. Life changing surgery.

Last year I had surgery on my deviated septum, turbinates and had a sinuplasty, the worst part was not being able to breath out of my nose. I can't stand mouth breathing, but leading up to the surgery I couldn't breath out of my nose. I don't know if its similar but it wasn't that bad, virtually no pain.

You have to sleep sitting up for a couple weeks until they remove the gauze.

No doubt! Best decision ever. I went from not being able to breath out of my nose to breathing great.

I’ve had it. Total Bilateral Ethmoidectomy; maxillary antrostomy; Frontal Sinusotomy; and a Sphenoidotomy.

No deviated septum, septoplasty, or turbinate reduction.

Recovery was easy. I was back in the gym the next week. Nothing overly strenuous though.

Tell your doctor you don’t want a turbinate reduction. Also, do your research on empty nose syndrome.

Yeah, sometimes.
First was when I was about 38. One side it was three inches long, 1" x 1/2 ". On one side and about 1" x 1" x1/2" on the other side.
About five years later it was repeated but the Polyps were much smaller.
Again about five years later. Its been about twenty years and they haven't returned.

Not bad.
1 day of sleeping on a recliner or with your head up.
I did mine on Thursday before Memorial Day, and on the following Tuesday they took the packing out.

Not as bad as the racing heart feeling and grinding teeth from the weekend coke benders.

You’ll be back on the slops in no time brother!

Right side of face hurts some and the blockage seems to be 90%. Left side seems okay. My upper teeth on right go into varying phases of partial numbness.

I was at the dentist for a filling and he checked those teeth and they weren’t dead or dying: perfectly healthy.

I have a deviated septum on the same side and have my whole life. Never had that kinda blockage.

I’ll find out Monday. Maybe they’ll give me steroids to make them shrink.

OTOH, I’m 57 and too damned old for surgery.

Can’t be worse than hemmrodectomy. It was brutal.

Thanks for the info. In looking at this online, it appears they use an instrument to cut them out. Seems that icing and compression for a few days would be in order. Yours seem to be causing other issues. Good luck and keep us posted!
