Had sinus and septum surgery about a year ago and they removed a load of polyps. I can breathe for the first time in years. First two weeks I had some pretty nasty drainage that was consistent. Took about 6-8 weeks to stop seeing dried blood. Use the rinse they give you several times a day and you’ll be golden. Felt fine the second day after the procedure regarding pain

They cut this tumor thing out of my sinus cavity, and it was only a week recovery really.

What was the path on that?

I’ll find out Monday. Maybe they’ll give me steroids to make them shrink.

Steroids will shrink them but only temporarily. Usually you’re given steroids to take around the time of surgery. It helps reduce bleeding during surgery and can help recovery. You’ll probably get allergy tested if you haven’t yet. Dupixent can be taken if the polyps come back to limit the need for another surgery

It’s not as bad as you’re expecting. The relief is totally worth it. Follow doc orders and flush out your nasal cavity twice daily and enjoy the pain killers

100%.

If your ENT is recommending it, do it. It was a life changer for me. Even though the procedure and post-op is far better and easier now than it was 20 years ago, I still wish I would have done it 20 years ago.

I had it. Post surgery your nose weeps blood and you shouldn't blow your nose for a week. Mine worked for several years but now I'm back to square one and blowing snot continuously, save for the times I break down and get anti-biotics.

Has anyone tried sinoplasty? It's the only thing I haven't tried.

Beat you easily.
Had polyps surgery years after I had my skin removed fixed my nose, sinus cavity, polyps, tubes in ear, and separate surgery to put a baha magnet behind by ear.

Look the polyp surgery easy and worth it.

Don’t they grow back half the time

Yes but it usually takes several yrs before another surgery is required. The quality of life in between makes it worth it.

Curious if anyone had any of the biologic drugs like Xolair or Dupixent brought up as a treatment? I had chronic issue and mine but CT revealed a fungal infection. The relief after the surgery was worth it. Also allergy tested me as they thought it could have contributed to the inflammation and nice environment for the infection to set up.
