Back in the 1980s, NASA sent its first probe to Uranus (heh heh). I remember watching the Today show, and some scientist was saying how it's actually pronounced "URINE-us" not "your ANus." The consensus around the breakfast table, though, was that "URINE-us" is not really an improvement anyway.
